Magazine rifle The invention relates to the design of a magazine rifle,
especially for target and clay pigeon shooting, and is particularly characterized by
that a large number of cartridges can be accommodated without the handiness,
impair the speed and safety of the shot. It is already known
to provide a channel in the rifle butt for receiving and feeding the cartridges,
which-transferred individually from the feeder of the lock into the cartridge chamber of the barrel
will. However, the number of cartridges is limited by the given piston length,
and one calculates with a caliber of 6.35 mm and the associated short cartridges
with jacketed bullet on a maximum of 15 cartridges for the piston channel. Other facilities
in which the cartridges are in a special drum or box on the side or below
of the lock placed too much strain on the rifle because of the lever arm of the
Load, calculated from the shoulder stop, is too long. According to the invention
now a plurality of piston channels are arranged and the individual channels, for example
four, so offset from one another that one after the other those stored in it in reserve
Dispenses cartridges until they are completely exhausted. Here the burden of the
Supply cartridges evenly from the switch stop to the lock, so that they only
becomes noticeable with a smaller part of their weight on the handrests. the
correct feeding of the cartridges is achieved by placing between the piston and
the cartridge chamber of the barrel a distributor, e.g. B. a switchable cartridge drum
in the manner of the revolver drum, which is connected from the piston channel with
the cartridges are loaded and from which the cartridges are fed by the feeder of the
Lock is transferred to the cartridge chamber of the barrel. This can be done by moving the lock
the rotation of the cartridge drum can also be effected, for example if a guide pin
or cam of the lock is guided in curved slots of the drum shell and
when the lock goes back the cartridge drum by one determined by the number of cartridges
Angle swings out, with the same guide pin at the same time the empty sleeve of the
the fired cartridge out of the drum bore and ejected to the side.
The periodic rotation of the intermediate cartridge drum can, by the way
can also be effected in a similar way by the trigger as with the revolver,
where the cock, which is in the open position, turns the drum by means of a locking mechanism
advances the partial arc. The channels for storing the supply cartridges
must be positioned to the side of the center line so that the tap device
directly controlled by the trigger lying in the vertical center line of the rifle
can, so to speak close off the straw device on both sides
and
leave the central space free for this facility. Each chamber of the cartridge drum
is provided with a slot through which the feeder can reach,
when he has grasped her for the forward movement. The end walls of the cartridge drum
are closed by plates or webs of the lock guide and trigger housing,
that only the connection of the supply channels on one side is exposed
can. The foremost cartridges of the supply channels can be replaced by special,
by the drum cartridges switchable locking mechanism are held until one
empty chamber of the cartridge drum lies in front of the cartridge channel to be emptied.
While maintaining the dimensions of the above-mentioned magazine rifle with a piston channel
and 15 supply cartridges, the cartridge supply increases with four piston channels and
a six-barrel cartridge drum including the cartridge of the barrel chamber
a total of 83, which compared to the considerable progress made by the subject matter of the invention
the well-known magazine rifles is given.

The piston shaft 2 of the rifle holding the barrel i at its front end is provided with four longitudinally continuous channels 3 which are intended to receive the supply cartridges which pass through the openings d. of the shaft are pressed laterally into the channels. The rows of cartridges are under the pressure of springs whose guide sleeves are not shown in the drawing. Only the handles 5 are indicated, through which the sleeves with the springs can be pulled out to the rear on the shoulder support surface of the piston. The four channels are arranged above and next to each other so that they form an elongated rectangle, with the bores 6, 7, 8, g and io of the housing web 12 and the drum 13 correspond and in the vertical center line of the rifle the arrangement of a slot for make the inclusion of the housing frame with the trigger and cock device and the lock guide possible. This frame shows in a known manner the bracket 15 protecting the pusher 1, the cock 16 shown in two positions, which is tensioned by the spring 17, and the already mentioned web 12 with the four bores for feeding the cartridges stored in the magazine . The web 12 is carried out as a bracket 18 to the front and takes the drum 13 between it, which is rotatably mounted about an axis parallel to the running axis ig. Further forward, the frame is designed as a connection 2o for the barrel and above as a lock slide, the lock being covered with a bridge 2i at the top. The lock 22 is coupled to the handguard 24 by means of two lateral straps 23 and can be pushed back and forth in its guide 25 by moving the handguard. It is provided in a known manner with the ejector 26, which grips the cartridge seated in the cartridge chamber 27 of the barrel i with the claws 28, releases it in the return movement by overrunning a cam 29 and by means of the stop 30 laterally through the recess 31 of one coupling band 23 ejects. The lock is also provided with a feeder cam 32 which, during the closing movement, reaches through a slot 33 of the drum parallel to the axis of rotation and introduces the cartridge seated in the uppermost cartridge chamber ii of the six-barrel drum via the feed channel 3.4 into the cartridge chamber 27. During the return movement of the lock, during which the above-described ejection of the empty sleeve takes place, the feeder cam runs through the arcuate slot 35 of the drum and rotates it further by almost 60 °. At the top, the lock is guided by a pin 36 of the bridge 21 in an inclined slot 37, which at the end of the closing movement causes the lock to shift sideways so that it falls into a detent 38 and thus locks the cartridge chamber 27. This sideways movement of the lock is used for the final adjustment of the drum 13 so that the next slot 33 corresponds exactly to the feeder, in that a pin cam 39 runs on the inclined path qo of a recess 41 and is then shifted on the drum circumference by the sideways movement of the lock .
The rifle should now be handled in such a way that the
Shifting the handguard is ejected and freshly loaded and then through
the trigger 14 is shot down. The drum 13- is here completely filled,
and each time the chamber above is emptied by the feeder. at
the next 60 ° rotation will empty the chamber
before
the opening of one of the magazine channels, which then placed a cartridge under the
Push in the tension spring, not shown. To prevent. the tips
the bullets grind on the case bases of the cartridge located in the drum,
the magazine channels are locked by a swivel lock 42 on each hole
of the web 12 is provided which, when the drum is full, over the cartridge case base
dragging away and, as soon as he finds an empty cartridge chamber in the drum,
by a spring, for example the leaf spring 43, in one of the cartridge chambers
connecting annular slot 44 of the drum is pressed. In Fig. 4 it is shown
how the chambers 7, 9 and io are locked and the chamber 6 is open and the shooting process
is thus still in the first quarter. As soon as the first magazine channel is emptied
is, the drum runs to the second channel, with a filling being rolled over
there for the third and then for the fourth. The drum is always charged to the point that
that the drum cartridge chamber, which is in the uppermost position, contains a cartridge,
to the last supply through the feeder cam to the cartridge chamber of the barrel
is pushed out.
