Process for the preparation of substantive disazo dyes The German patents 380058 and 382 427 protect processes for the preparation of unsvinmetric disazo and polvazo dyes which are obtained when the tetrazo compound of 4 # 4 "- diaminodiphenyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid with two various coupling components combined, one of which contains sulfo or carboxyl groups or other water-solubilizing groups, such as hydroxyl groups, amino groups or ketone groups.
It has now been found that you can also use very valuable dyes
of this class if the tetrazo compound of 4 # 4'-diaminodiphenyl-3
# 3'-dicarboxylic acid and its derivatives combined with two coupling components, of
each of which sulfo or carboxyl groups or other water-solubilizing groups
contains, wherein at least one of the coupling components is an arylnaphthlivlaminesulfonic acid
or one of its derivatives. The dyes show not only better solubility
especially in calcareous water compared to those of the above-mentioned patents
the dyeings aftertreated with metal salts also have good fastness to water and washing
on. The lightfastness of the re-coppered dyeings is also very good. the
Coupling of the tetrazo compound of 4 # 4'-diaminodiphenyl-3 # 3'-dicarboxylic acid
the coupling components can be carried out in any order.
Beispiel i 272 Gewichtsteile 4 # q.''-Diaminodiphenyl-3 ' 3'-dicarbonsäure
Example i 272 parts by weight of 4 # q. "-Diaminodiphenyl-3 '3'-dicarboxylic acid
are tetrazotized in a known manner and with 63o parts by weight of 8-oxy-i-phenv
laminonaphtlialin-q.-sulfonic acid coupled to alkaline soda in the presence of pyridine.
The coupling mixture is finally heated to about 40, salted out and dried.
The dye is a black powder that stains cotton blue. By
After coppering the color becomes greener and at the same time washable and lightfast.
Example e 272 parts by weight; 4 # 4 .'-Diaininodiphenvl-3 # 3'-dicarboxylic acid
tetrazotized and with 315 parts by weight of 5-oxy-2-plienvlnaphthylamine-7-sulfoic acid
bicarbonate-alkaline coupled. The intermediate product is filtered off and poured into soda-alkaline
Solution in the presence of pyridine with 224 parts by weight of i-oxynaphthlialine-5-sulfonic acid
coupled. To complete the coupling, the mixture is heated to about 40 °, salted out and filtered
off and dry. The dye is a black powder that dissolves in water
with blue-red paint dissolves and cotton and rayon
red-violet
stains. Post-treatment of the dye with copper salts results in a washable
and lightfast blue-violet.
Beispiel 3 z72 Gewichtsteile 4 # 4'-Diaminodiphenyl-3 ' 3'-dicarbonsäure
werden tetrazotiert und mit 3 r 5 Gewichtsteilen 8-Oxy-r-phenylaminonaphthalin-4-sulfosäure
bicarbonatalkalisch gekuppelt.
Example 3 72 parts by weight of 4 # 4'-diaminodiphenyl-3 '3'-dicarboxylic acid are tetrazotized and alkaline bicarbonate coupled with 3 to 5 parts by weight of 8-oxy-r-phenylaminonaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid. After the formation of the intermediate product has ended, a solution of 287 parts by weight of sulfoacetoacetic acid-o-anisidide is added, the mixture is made alkaline with soda and heated to about 40 ° until the coupling is complete; then it is salted out, filtered off and dried. The dye is a black powder that is readily soluble in water with a gray-blue color. Dyed on cotton, the result is a gray-blue which, on aftertreatment with cooper salts, turns into a clear, washable and light-fast green.
