Description

Method for mixing briquettes with a liquid binder It is known to use a liquid binder, for example liquid pitch To atomize scattering nozzles and to feed them to the briquette. Brought into proposal are steam or compressed air nozzles through which the binding agent such as pitch and Asphalt, atomized and the powdered binder through the in fine Distributed form blown rain-like or vertically falling briquettes will. Because with these devices the binder of the nozzle without any special pressure flows in, it can get stuck on the edge of the nozzle, so that a monitoring of the nozzle required = will. When atomizing by means of steam, the briquette becomes a large amount of water supplied, which causes a higher consumption of binder. at atomization by means of compressed air reduces the consumption of binding agent, however if there is such a dust development that it is almost impossible without the addition of steam get along, with the steam or. Compressed air requirement is a very large one. Generally it has been shown that much of the extremely finely distributed dust is lost, so that such processes work uneconomically.

These shortcomings are remedied by the invention, which consists in that the liquid binder, mainly liquid pitch, from a storage container conveyed by means of a pump to a pressure vessel and here by means of a precisely working, the overpressure reducing valve at a desired pressure constant is obtained. This pressure is advantageously 6 to 10 atmospheres from the pressure vessel the liquid binding agent is fed to the spray nozzle, through which it is extremely fine atomized into the mixing drum and thus against the freely falling briquette is blown.

Two spray nozzles are expediently provided so that one or with the other nozzle or with both at the same time.

In the new process, the binder itself is therefore under high Set overpressure, whereby a extremely fine atomization takes place and the binder particles are finely comminuted will. An exact measurement of the required amount of binder is made possible by that approaches the binder, which a cross-section reduction of the nozzle opening could cause, as a result of the high overpressure of the outflowing binder are impossible - and there also the cooling of the Nozzle opening due to expanding steam or compressed air is completely eliminated. Through this the main thing is that the consumption of binder is extremely small. The power consumption is also lower than before, since only the excess pressure of the binding agent is to be obtained. Since the overpressure through the reducing valve would be constant is retained, neither a change in the nozzle opening nor a change of the binder overpressure occur.

The process is shown schematically in the drawing.

The liquid binding agent is conveyed from a storage container a by means of a pump b to a pressure vessel e and is kept constant here at the desired pressure by means of a precisely working overpressure reducing valve. This valve d is connected to the reservoir or boiler a through a line, and there is a pressure reducing valve f on the pump -b, the branch line g of which leads to the line h connecting the boiler a to the pump b. From the pressure vessel e is through a line! the liquid binder, which is under high pressure, is fed to a spray nozzle through which it is finely atomized. enters the mixing vessel m, and thereby passes through the briquetting material o falling freely from a container line n. There are two diffuser nozzles k and h ' which are connected to line i next to one another or one below the other.
