Rechenmaschinen, Registriermaschinen usw., werden Druckstöcke oder Typenräder oder Typentrommeln verwendet, die eine große Anzahl von Druckvorgängen aushalten müssen, ohne daß sie sich dabei merklich abnutzen dürfen. Mit den bisher verwendeten Herstellungsverfahren war es nicht möglich, Druckformen herzustellen, die neben scharf ausgeprägten Druckzeichen gleichzeitig eilte große Haltbarkeit besaßen. Wenn man, wie es vorgeschlagen worden ist, das Druckst.ockmetall, sei es in fester, sei es in plastischer Form, in die Gegenform einpreßt, so wird zwar durch die Gefügeverdichtung eine verhältnismäßig haltbare Oberfläche gewonnen, aber nur dadurch, daß man nicht ganz scharf ausgeprägte Typen in Kauf nehmen mußte. Diese wiederum kann man erhalten, wenn man das Druckstockmaterial in fein verteiltem Zustande in die Gegenform einbringt. Hierzu kann. man z. B. galvanische Verfahren verwenden oder Spritzguß, indem man z. B. nach Schoop oder Metalisator Metall verdampft und den Dampf unter Druck in die Form .einspritzt.
