Verfahren zur Herstellung biegsamer Stereotypmatrizen mittels Verwendung
plastischer massen.
später ab.Method for producing flexible stereotype matrices by means of use
more plastic masses. Apart from the so-called beaten ones made by hand
Stereotype matrices, cardboard matrices were previously used. On the back of the die
a felt or rubber sheet was placed, which through a press or calender
embossed the cardboard matrices into the depths of the typeface. As a result of the structure
of these backed plates, the die could only imperfectly assume the depth of the shape,
because the plates only pushed imperfectly into the depths. After removing the felt
or rubber plates showed the backs of the stereotype matrices corresponding to the typeface
Indentations. If they were larger, they had to be underlaid with strips of cardboard
to prevent the depths from collapsing during watering. It was so strong
Pressure needed to achieve sufficiently deep matrices that the brief would be ruined
could hardly be avoided. These deficiencies are eliminated according to the invention in that
no backed felt or rubber plate, but a plastic mass the embossing
executes. The cardboard die marked a in the drawing can be used for this type of use
be softer and weaker because the same due to the one on the back
plastic mass b is supported. During the pressing process, the plastic mass of
displaces the heights c and thereby presses the cardboard die so strongly into the depths
of the typeface that an almost complete filling of the depths d of the S.chxxftbildes
he follows. At the same time, through this process, all the depths are on the back of the
Cardboard die filled with plastic material so that the margin has a flat back surface
results, whereby the support of the hollow points of the die by cardboard strips in omission
comes. In this way, with considerably less pressure than before, sufficient
Create deep matrices because the plastic mass penetrates deeply
the shape is not hindered. You can even omit matrices in this way
plastic mass without using cardboard. The plastic mass can
be heated during the pressing process. This softens it and binds it
later off.
For the method with heating, raw rubber comes into question, which is at
the treatment after the process is vulcanized, for the process without heating
a filling compound bound by a rubber solution, such as chalk.
