Description

Process for smoldering lumpy or queasy fuels. It has been shown in the smoldering of moist, lumpy fuel that, in addition to the accumulation of tar and coke residue, not insignificant amounts of cracked products pass into carbonization gas. So if one mixes these with the smoldering gas during the smoldering with inert gases, a gas is produced which contains flammable constituents outside the smoldering gas, but not to such an extent (that this gas can be used for burning, # so that its use becomes uneconomical. and it is therefore allowed to blow off. But in order to still be able to utilize these amounts of heat economically, it is necessary to enrich the gas in some way. This is done according to the invention in such a way that the hot combustion gases of the reducing dust furnace according to the main patent 458 879 are used in place of the inert gases, so that the gas used for carbonization already contains a significant amount of heat units to cool, they are mixed with the de-tarred cold gases, resulting in a high-quality semi-coke and a high-quality paraffin-like tar egg n total gas suitable for combustion purposes. The method can be used advantageously, for example, when it is a question of saving the transport costs for the hydrocarbons in the case of moist raw coals and for shipping a high-quality semi-coke. Then the moist coal is carbonized according to the method described on the pit itself with the help of the exhaust gases from a reducing dust furnace, which is directly attached to the smoldering furnace, as described and shown in the main patent.

PATENT CLAIM: Process for carbonizing lumpy or queasy fuels according to patent 458 879, characterized in that the carbonizer is heated by means of a special, reducing dust furnace, the combustion gases of which are mixed with tarred cold carbonization gases so that the temperature the combustion gas to smolder the coal - just enough to obtain a total gas that is still combustible.
