Description
Method of making a plastic pale. The present The invention relates to a method for producing a peculiar mass, which as a result its special properties can be used in many ways. The invention consists essentially in the fact that used Gerberlohe in a closed Kocher is subjected to a boiling process with dilute caustic alkali. The tan is available in sufficient quantities as a waste product and is very cheap. For cooking a 3 to 4 percent lye is used. The duration of the cooking process is a few hours. When the cooking process has ended, the liquid or lye is used drained and the mass rinsed with pure water, then ground and in this Conditions for further manufacture into panels, utensils, etc. supplied. The finished material has great hardness and strength. By adding paper pulp the degrees of hardness can be changed as required. The finished product can be converted into any shape, both in sheets of various thicknesses and in any plastic body by casting and pressing in molds. From the plates and panels, stamped goods of all kinds can again be produced. The finished one Product is not only much cheaper, but also light, great Durability, does not split and is easy to work with. A special The advantage is that this product does not dissolve in water and in different degrees of hardness can be produced. The product is therefore also suitable for seals for steam and Water fittings, also as an insulation mass, since it does not carry the electric current conducts, further than heat and cold insulation, because it. a bad conductor of heat is. The yield of the product obtained is 80 percent of the starting material.
