Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kammerschleuse mit einer Vorkammer zur Vernichtung der lebendigen Kraft des am Kammerschleusenoberhaupt einfließenden Wassers. Dabei wird zweckmäßig die Entfernung der Querwand von der Wand des Schleusenoberhauptes so groß gewählt, daß das in die Vorkammer einfließende Wasser in freiem Strahl gegen die Querwand zu stürzen vermag, wodurch ein Teil der dem Wasser innewohnenden lebendigen Kraft vernichtet wird. Zur weiteren Vernichtung der lebendigen Kraft kann außerdem in cler Vorkammer ein geeignetex Körper, z.
