Zum Schließen von Miedern, Korsetten, Leibbinden u. dgl. mittels ösenbänder werden gewöhnlich die bekannten Verschlußstäbe benutzt, die zu beiden Seiten des Rückenverschlusses eingenäht werden und Stiftknöpfe tragen. Über diese Knöpfe werden die jeweils passenden Ösen der ösenbänder .eingehängt. In der Regel sind zu beiden Seiften des Verschlusses je zwei solcher Verschlußstäbe eingenäht. Da die Stiftknöpfe bei starken Bewegungen des Körpers leicht aus den Ösenbändern ausgelöst werden, hat man sie bereits durch Häkchen ersetzt, die entweder senkrecht nach oben oder wagerecht nach rechts oder links abgebogen sind.
