Dichtung für Rohrleitungen. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 19. September 1925 ab. Seal for pipelines. Patented in the German Empire on September 19, 1925.
It is well known that cast iron or steel pipes were used for water pipes and gas pipes to seal in such a way that one pushed the pipe ends into one another and the space in between sealed with a sealing material made of a tarred rope or the like and a lead ring poured over it. In more recently one has this seal, which often waned with the use of Steel pipes replaced by welding the pipe ends, and in the case of cast iron pipes the welding was carried out using a bronze ring. To also with already In order to prevent the pipes laid from leaking, it has also been proposed that the existing seal with a welded-on cap, which the sealing point completely includes to surround. The last-mentioned device serves its purpose, but is the welding a joint in this way is relatively expensive, since apart from the two weld seams going around the pipe there are still two relatively long longitudinal seams to be welded.
The aim of the present invention is also to provide already existing seals in such To re-seal lines by welding. However, in order to reduce the weld seams to the smallest possible extent, is according to the invention after whole or partial removal of the melted Lead ring of the seal a stuffing box-like ring, preferably under intermediate ' circuit of refractory sealing material, inserted into the outer sleeve of the joint and this stuffing box-like ring on the one hand with the sleeve, on the other hand with the end of the inserted pipe welded.
Die Zeichnung zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungsgegenstandes, und zwar istThe drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, and although is
Abb. Ι a view of a pipe connection according to the invention, from which a part
herausgeschnitten ist, wobei der geschnittene Teil oben die Verbindung vor der Schweißung und unten nach der Schweißung zeigt; Abb. 2 ist ein Querschnitt durch das Rohr und zeigt links und unten eine Ansicht der Schweißstelle und rechts oben eine Ansieht vor dem Schweißen.is cut out, with the cut part above the connection before welding and below shows after welding; Fig. 2 is a cross-section through the tube showing left and bottom views of the Welding point and a view before welding at the top right.
In the drawing, α is the pushed-in end of the two pipe parts to be connected to one another and b is the sleeve-like part into which part α is pushed. The seal was originally made in the known manner by inserting tar strings c or the like, and the space in the sleeve located in front of these tar strings was filled in the usual way with a lead ring. According to the invention, this lead ring is first completely or partially melted out, and sealing rings d, z. B. of asbestos o. The like., Inserted. Then a two-part stuffing box-like ring e is placed around the part α and inserted into the sleeve b so that it assumes the position shown in Fig. Ι above. Now this ring e is pressed into the socket. Pressing in can be done in any way. For this purpose, it is preferable to use clamps which are placed around the pipes and which carry pressure screws which press against part e. Pressing in takes place until the space between the flange of part e and the end face of the sleeve is approximately 3 to 6 mm in size. The device is now welded, namely the outer edge of the flange of the ring e is welded to the end face of the sleeve b , resulting in the weld seam g . Furthermore, the inserted tube α is welded to the end face of the ring e at its outer circumference, resulting in a weld seam h . In addition, the two parts from which the ring e is composed can also be welded to one another in the axial direction, as indicated in Fig. 2 by the weld seams i.
The flange / can also be designed in a different way, depending on the circumstances best «corresponds to; z. B. it can also be made up of three or more parts. forms his ". As far as one can slip over a one-piece ring, one can also choose a one-piece ring.
When connecting cast iron pipes, the welding is done in exactly the same way, except that one. ; in the manner known per se the to be welded ! Send places covered by a bronze ring and welded this to the cast iron. The gland-like ring e can be made of wrought iron or steel when welding steel pipes, while this ring to be used can also be made of cast iron when welding cast iron. The use of Stalil or wrought iron is also possible here ".
The device has the advantage that it is impossible for gas to escape during processing, since the lead is melted out at a relatively low temperature, so that the original rope seal c holds tight. As soon as the ring e is inserted and pressed in, the connection is held tight both by the rope seal c and by the sealing rings d during further processing, ie during the welding of the part e to the two tubes.
Instead of welding, a connection can also be made by soldering, fusing or enter into another equivalent connection. Likewise, the facility can not only for laid lines, but also for newly created Leitengeiij, both for Gas and water pipes as well as any other pipes can be used.
The seal, which can be omitted under certain circumstances, preferably consists of a "refractory, insulating material, such as asbestos. It can also be any other substance can be used.
