Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an electronic pulse generator, which preferably uses the tear-off oscillator principle and that for use in or on a motor vehicle is provided according to the preamble of claim 1.
Electronic pulse generators are in many different ways known. A particularly important area of application for such The pulse generator is the determination of rotational speeds (Angular velocities) of rotating shafts, wheels etc., where necessary, one or more pulses to generate per revolution of the rotating object, so that based on the electrical pulse properties the angular velocity of the shaft or a wheel or the like can be closed.
A distinction is made between pulse generators, which for one Speed range below a device-typical Maximum speed up to an arbitrarily low speed are suitable (static pulse generators) and those which for monitoring speeds in an area above a minimum speed up to one Maximum speed are suitable (dynamic pulse generator). For use inside motor vehicles Impulse generator known, which in terms of durability and resistance to elevated temperatures and Pollution meet special requirements. It understand that for lower speed ranges static pulse generators are more universal than dynamic.
It is also state of the art, the driving speed a vehicle such as B. a person or Truck over the speed of rotation of the To determine vehicle wheels or on such Vehicle parts with these in direct kinematic Connect as this z. B. for individual Gear wheels, cardan shafts and other applies.
For this purpose, a slotted or toothed impulse wheel made of soft or hard magnetic Material provided. This stands with one of the mentioned vehicle parts in kinematic connection, is its rotational frequency (or angular velocity) proportional to the speed of the vehicle. By the slots or teeth of such a pulse wheel a change in magnetic flux density at Installation location of a suitable magnetic field sensitive Sensor or pulse generator caused such. B. one Hall sensor or an inductive one Proximity sensor. This way, within one The pulse generator periodically through a sensor element generated changes in a local magnetic field in electrical impulses implemented. The impulses of one Pulse generator represent a path-proportional signal, which on the receipt of an assigned display or Registration device is directed. - Have in practice electronic pulse generator for speed measurement proven which an oscillator circuit with inductive acting sensor element as a frequency-determining component exhibit. Such an oscillator is preferred as So-called tear-off oscillator switched, d. H. it resonates a substantially constant frequency, provided that frequency-determining inductance a minimal required inductance value, and which the oscillation stops, provided the inductance is smaller than a lower limit.
Arrangements of the type described have also in the Proven for use at higher temperatures. Depending on size a speed to be recorded and according to requirements it is the accuracy of the speed determination (resolution) but still required, slotted or serrated Impulse wheels with different numbers of teeth too use. It is understood that the use of Pulse wheels with a relatively high number of teeth or slits leads to better accuracy because a larger number per revolution of a pulse wheel Information is given. It is therefore endeavored for determining the speed of a motor vehicle suitable, existing gear wheels as to use inexpensive impulse wheels, which due to their construction is also very high Have division accuracy.
It is usually technically advantageous the distance between such gear wheels (usually Spur gears) and a pulse generator as large as possible hold, provided that the electronic requirements allow. The actual required distance between Gear or a pulse wheel and an associated The pulse generator depends on the constructive Dimensions of the gear wheel to be scanned. Depending on Distance between the teeth and depending on the size of one such a gear results in its rotation Change the inductance of the oscillator at each Gear wheel turns out differently. This is based insist that teeth and parts of the gear as movable serve magnetic yoke elements. Because this change should be as large as possible - depending on the design Conditions of a gear to be scanned - for this customized, different sizes and different molded soft magnetic flux guides for the To provide oscillator inductance. Accordingly, depending on the geometric dimensions of the to be scanned Gears and their tooth spacing, tear-off oscillators available, which look similar, whose frequency-determining inductors but different shaped soft magnetic cores or flux guides exhibit. With a shell core you get as Working air gap a distance that is about half Shell core diameter corresponds when tooth and gap are about the same size or larger than the shell core Diameter. For finer resolutions such as B. at the Sampling of gears may have to be done a shell core with a very small diameter and correspondingly small working air gap can be used. However, a flow guide in the form of a cylindrical core used, result in cheaper Ratios, d. H. the working air gap can be larger being held.
It is therefore of particular interest to try one to create universal impulses. This should be in be able to use both conventional pulse wheels with a Diameter from approx. 50 to 250 mm and a maximum of 8 teeth at a distance (working air gap) of about 2 mm palpate, as well as gear gears with something a smaller working air gap.
The object of the invention is therefore a cost-effective Provide pulse generator of the static type, the Oscillator electronics itself within the Pulse generator housing and its inductive sensor or oscillator element for a wide range of applications is suitable, so that especially gear wheels different size and number of teeth as well conventional pulse wheels with a maximum of 8 teeth can be reliably scanned.
This object is achieved in that the pulse generator within a housing 10 has a circuit board 12 with an oscillator electronics 30 of a uniform type and a sensor head 18 selected from a number of different sensor head types compatible with the oscillator electronics 30 , the sensor head 18 of the Pulse generator is preferably provided with a standardized sensor element receiving device 14 which is equipped with a mechanical snap spring 15 and at least one electrical contact spring 20 and is positively attached to the associated circuit board 12 of the pulse generator by means of a snap connection. At the same time, the sensor element receiving device 14 is connected to the oscillator electronics 30 by means of one or more contact springs 20 via the contact surfaces 21 .
Auf diese Weise werden folgende Vorteile realisiert:
Die Herstellkosten eines solchen Gebers werden durch
Beschränkung auf nur eine Ausführungsform der
Oszillatorelektronik, durch Beschränkung auf nur eine
oder einige wenige Ausführungsformen des Gehäuses und
durch Beschränkung auf eine geringe Anzahl von
Sensorkopf-Typen mit unterschiedlichen Induktivitäten
bzw. zugehöriger Kerne reduziert. Die Konfektionierung
eines zu fertigenden Impulsgebers erleichtert sich
wesentlich durch die Verwendung einer standardisierten,
preisgünstigen Kontakteinrichtung innerhalb des
Impulsgeber-Gehäuses. Mit der Erfindung ist es weiterhin
möglich, kostengünstig Sensorkopf-Varianten mit
Induktivitäten nach Sonder-Spezifikationen für kleinere
Stückzahlen herzustellen. The following advantages are realized in this way:
The manufacturing costs of such an encoder are reduced by restriction to only one embodiment of the oscillator electronics, by restriction to only one or a few embodiments of the housing and by restriction to a small number of sensor head types with different inductances or associated cores. The assembly of a pulse generator to be manufactured is made considerably easier by using a standardized, inexpensive contact device within the pulse generator housing. With the invention it is also possible to produce inexpensive sensor head variants with inductors according to special specifications for smaller quantities.
These and other aspects of the invention are discussed in following shown in detail using the drawing.

The pulse generator shown in FIG. 1 is encased in a housing (preferably a plastic housing) 10 . In this housing there is an oscillator electronics 30 , which is arranged on a printed circuit board 12 and is preferably connected in the manner of a tear-off oscillator. According to the known prior art, either discrete switching elements in the form of transistors, resistors, etc. can be used for this, or essential parts of the circuit in the form of a so-called integrated circuit (IC) can be attached. The associated inductance, which determines the oscillation frequency of the oscillator, consists of a coil 17 , which as a rule has a ferromagnetic core and whose inductance can be varied to a certain extent on the basis of externally present parts of the associated magnetic circuit. For this reason, it is necessary for the inductance of a sensor head of the pulse generator to be arranged in the vicinity of one of its end faces and to be only a short distance from a registering gear or pulse wheel during operation of the pulse generator. Accordingly, the shell core 16 shown in FIG. 1 extends almost directly to an end face of the sensor housing 10 . This shell core forms part of the magnetic circuit, which consists of parts such. B. a gear wheel, one or more teeth of such a gear and a magnetic air gap. For this reason, it is advantageous to provide plastic material or another non-magnetic material for the housing 10 in order to prevent magnetic shunts and possibly eddy currents. The shell core 16 is fastened on the end face of an angled receptacle 14 and is in the usual way with a coil 17 equipped, the two winding ends of which are connected to contact springs 20 . The receptacle 14 is provided with a snap spring 15 , which has a z. B. has circular snap tips 22 . When the receptacle 14 and the attached sensor head 18 are plugged onto the printed circuit board 12, the snap spring 15 engages with its tongue tip 22 in an associated opening 13 in the printed circuit board 12 , which results in a form-fitting, centered connection of the sensor head 18 and printed circuit board 12 . Additional centering is brought about by a centering lug 23 of the receptacle 14 , the centering lug protruding into a corresponding recess in the printed circuit board 12 and preventing lateral displacements of the receptacle 14 relative to the printed circuit board. After the receptacle 14 has been plugged onto the printed circuit board 12, the contact springs 20 touch the contact surfaces 21 intended for making contact and effect the electrical connection of the coil 17 to the oscillator electronics 30 . This is supplied in essential union known manner via two of the four cable wires 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 of a connecting cable 3 with electrical energy and emits the desired electrical useful signal (pulses) via the remaining wires of the cable. The wire ends of the connecting cable 3 are brought into contact with the printed circuit board in a known manner by means of a solder, plug or clamp connection with corresponding conductor tracks on the printed circuit board 12 . This happens during the manufacture of the pulse generator, however, only when the completely equipped printed circuit board is inserted into the housing 10 along the guide grooves 8 ( FIG. 3). Instead of guide grooves, guide ribs can also be provided. The hold-down device 9 , which is attached to the housing cover 11, serves as strain relief for the cable 3 . The housing cover also has a detent in order to be able to be connected to the housing in a mechanically safe manner, furthermore a filling opening, so that the cavities within the housing 10 can be filled with a suitable, self-hardening casting compound 19 .
12 Fig. 2 shows the printed-circuit board of a pulse generator with a sensor head with a pin core 46.. This consists, for. B. from a radio frequency suitable ferrite material and has a diameter of a few millimeters. Its end facing the pulse generator is wound or provided with a coil 47 of a few millimeters in length, the ends of which are also connected to two contact springs 20 '. The pin core is located in a hollow cylindrical recess of a receptacle 14 ', which is provided in a comparable manner as shown in Fig. 1 with a snap spring 15 '. This snaps in the attached state of the receptacle 14 'in the associated opening on the circuit board 12 , so that here too there is an exactly coaxial alignment of the pin core 46 relative to the cylinder axis of the pulse generator. The contact springs 20 'shown in FIG. 2 are, similar to that shown in Fig. 1, conveniently laterally next to the snap spring and have dimensions such that they rest on the intended contact surfaces 21 of the circuit board 12 when the receptacle 14 ' on the circuit board is attached. In this way, it is possible to equip a standardized electronics unit, consisting of a standard circuit board and a standard oscillator electronics, with different inductances, so that the pulse generator can be adapted and manufactured to different detection tasks with comparatively little effort.
Fig. 3 shows a top view of the pulse encoder, cable 3 and mounting plate 1 , which is provided with a mounting hole 2 and is optionally provided with additional positioning aids in the form of guide grooves or the like.
