Description
Continuous process for the absorption of absorbent substances from gases by means of porous bodies.
In the absorption of absorbent substances from gases or in the Breakdown of gas mixtures into their components by means of porous bodies, e.g. B. more active Coal, or z. B. in the catalytic separation of sulfur from sulfur-containing The porous bodies must have gases by means of active carbon according to their saturation regeneration, e.g. B. by extraction with liquids by expelling means hot gases, by evaporation, etc., are subjected. It has now been shown that the measures of absorption and regeneration are advantageous and continuous Let the operation run while largely sparing the porous body, if they are placed in a shaft on a single or multi-start fixed screw or a screw thread can slide down by their own weight and the gas mixture to be treated in the opposite direction from bottom to top directs. The saturated absorption mass exiting at the bottom of the shaft, its exit can be regulated, is now then after known methods of regeneration, if necessary, also using the countercurrent principle, subjected and then by means of a transport device, e.g. B. a movable screw, raised and added to the shaft again at the top. Regeneration can if necessary also take place after the elevation, shortly before entering the shaft. The whole The absorption mass cycle runs under the exclusion of gas. Because the gas as it flows through the coal layer has to overcome a great resistance and under certain circumstances If not evenly distributed in this, it has been found to be expedient to use the gases in such a way that they are perpendicular to the direction of movement of the coal through the coal layer stream. This can be done in such a way that the gas to be cleaned in one of the coal-bearing worm gear, co-rotating worm gear and a hollow core is carried up inside the absorption mass in such a way that the gas is forced alternating the carbon layer continuously from the outside to the inside or from the inside to the outside to flow through.
With this method, the speed of fall can be regulated very well and large quantities of gas can be processed in this way with a small footprint.
Beispiel. Example.
An example embodiment using two around I800 staggered screw flights for the catalytic desulfurization of coal distillation gases represents the drawing. Fig. I shows the cross section of an absorption shaft, Fig. 2 the apparatus rotated by go0, the inner part in view, the outer part on average. The apparatus consists of a screen plate and wire mesh made Cylinder A, which is closed at the top and at the bottom by a conical sheet metal hood B. -is and the I core for two made of narrow sheet metal strips, around I800 staggered worm threads C and Ci forms. The one traversed by the two corridors, in Fig. 1 hatched space is inwardly through the core, outward through the on the outer circumference of the screw flights to be attached sheet metal cylinder D, also from Screen plate and wire mesh manufactured, completed. The two snail-shaped Spaces E and E1 of rectangular cross-section serve to guide the porous bodies, the one above from a small bunker through the one from the conical hood B inside and the annular space G delimited by an outer conical casing F in the screw guide, in this slide in a spiral around the screw core and below in a corresponding one Annular space H can be withdrawn in an adjustable manner.
The screw body described above also has a sheet metal jacket J, in which, just like on the inner core, two made of narrow metal strips, Screw flights K and 1 K1 offset by 180 "are used for the gas flow; the inner edge of this will be with the outer edge of the porous body leading helical sheet metal strips C and Ci screwed together.
The gas to be cleaned enters the outer ones at L and L1, i.e. the Screws carrying gases and is forced through the transverse walls M and Ml in Fig. 2, to flow transversely through the porous bodies moving slowly downwards in the shape of a snail and enter the hollow core of the snail. Here the gas rises and will continue due to the intermediate wall N located in the core, from the inside to the outside the To penetrate coal again at Q and into the outer gas-bearing screw spaces to enter behind the partition walls M and Ml.
In these the gas rises half a gear and kicks again, just like below, through the absorbing layer moving down into the inner ones hollow snail core, then half a flight higher again through the absorption layer back at 0 and O1 to leave the shaft cleaned.
