Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Erzeugung von Alkali- oder Erdalkalihydroxyden und Wasserstoff aus ihren Amalgamen bei Gegenwart der in dem Patent 427236 genannten Legierungen als Reaktionsbeschleuniger. Hierbei kommt, wie gefunden wurde, die beschleunigende Wirkung solcher Legierungen am besten zur Geltung, wenn ihre Oberfläche bei Gegenwart von Wasser gegen das Amalgam bzw. wenn das Amalgam als solches gegen eine derartige Metalloberfläche bewegt wird.Process for the decomposition of alkali and alkaline earth amalgams : Addition to patent 427236.
