Description
Process for the flotation of kieserite-containing raw potassium salts in the patent 871 133 were the conditions for the swimming pool treatment of kieserite Crude salts with regard to the Mg S 04 limit concentration to be observed in the carrier liquor depending on the Mg C12 content to avoid difficulties that include caused by the excretion of double sulphates. It has now show that when using pure saturated amines with 16 to 20 carbon atoms or their water-soluble salts for floating the Sylvins with increasing total magnesium content in the carrier liquor there is a steady decrease in the K.0 yield and, in particular, also the Level of concentrates occurs. It has been shown that these disadvantages can be upheld To a certain extent can be switched off when using the following per se known Measures: Warming up the floating solution before adding it, which apparently causes association phenomena between the floating agent molecules that are detrimental to the desired effect, To get picked up.
Adjustment of the pH value of the flotation pulp below the neutral point (PH <7), as free amines are not effective.
Adjustment of the sludge density, especially with post-flotation the operating conditions given by the peculiarities of the salts in order to achieve them highest possible concentrates.
Adjustment of the air supply for optimal results in terms of yield and amount of concentrates.
Even if these measures have some success in the implied Direction provided so the results weren't so satisfactory after all, as was expected.
It has now been shown, surprisingly, that the above-identified Disadvantages can be avoided in full by using mixtures of saturated and unsaturated amines uses, in such a way that the proportions of unsaturated Amines are steadily increased with the total magnesium content of the carrier liquor.
It has been shown that with a total magnesium content between .4.5 and 55 moles per 1000 H, O the most favorable effect is achieved with a floating agent mixture that consists of at least half of unsaturated amines, e.g. B. 50% oleylamine and 50% stearylamine. Furthermore, it has been found that with a total magnesium content of the carrier liquor of about 70 moles to zooo H, 0 an amine mixture; which contains at least 75 '/ 0 unsaturated amines gives the most beneficial effect. This means that there is a direct proportionality between the total magnesium content and the percentage of unsaturated amines in the floating agent mixture such that the minimum amount of unsaturated amines must be increased in the same way as the total magnesium content increases. It should be emphasized that the resulting proportions of unsaturated amine in the floating agent mixture should not be undercut, but may well be exceeded in order to achieve the most favorable flotation effect.
It goes without saying that the above mentioned in the introduction Measures individually or in combination when carrying out the flotation process according to the method of the invention on a case-by-case basis depending on the operating conditions can be used.
