Die bisher bekannten Zuschneidemesser für Schuhmacher, Sattler u. dgl., die aus nur zwei Teilen bestehen, haben den Nachteil, daß sie entweder zu teuer sind oder das Messer im Griff nicht genügend festgehalten wird.Trimming knife. Das neue Zuschneidemesser mit Reißnadel und Griff besteht aus dem Messer a und dem Griff b. An dem Griff b befindet sich eine Nadel b1, die als Reißnadel zum Anzeichnen oder Vorzeichnen dient. Bei b2 sind Rinnen angebracht, die das Messer a aufnehmen und nach Schließen der beiden Griffhälften b festhalten. An dem einen Ende des Griffes b befindet sich eine Sperre b3. Bei b¢ befindet sich ein Schlitz im Griff b zum Durchstecken des Messers a. Beim Gebrauch wird das Messer a durch den Schlitz b' so weit hindurchgesteckt, bis die Messerspitze in gewünschter Länge dem Griffe vorsteht, dann werden die beiden Griffhälften b von Hand so weit zusammengedrückt, bis die Sperre b3 über der Spitze b1 einfällt. Nun sitzt das Messer a unverrückbar im Griff b fest.
