Die Handhabung des Verdeckstoffs bei der Montage eines derartigen Faltdachs bringt einige Schwierigkeiten mit sich. Da die Dachöffnungen typischerweise an den Übergängen von ihren Seitenkanten zur Vorder- bzw. Hinterkante nicht eckig sondern gerundet ausgebildet sind, muß der Verdeckstoff sowohl beim Zuschnitt als auch beim Anbringen am vorderen Verschlußspriegel und am hinteren Spriegel mit einigem Aufwand an diese Rundungen angepaßt werden. Am hinteren Spriegel 8 sind für die Spannseile 12 außenliegend Umlenkrollen 14A und eine zentrale Spannrolle 14B vorgesehen, die gemeinsam eine Spannvorrichtung zum Nachspannen des Spannseils 12 bilden. Der hintere Spriegel 8 ist vorzugsweise mit dem festen Dach 2 über den hinteren Teil des Rahmens 4 verbunden. Die Hinterkante des Verdeckstoffs 6 wird zwischen der Leiste 17′ und dem hinteren Spriegel mittels der Schrauben 16 fest eingespannt. Dadurch, daß sich der Vorsprung 18′ in die Nut 19′ einlegt wird die Klemm- und Dichtwirkung erhöht. Eine weitere Verbesserung der Halte- und Dichtfähigkeit ergibt sich durch Auftragen einer Kleberschicht an der Ober- und Unterseite der Hinterkante des Verdeckstoffs vor der Montage.
