Description
Die Erfindung betrifft metallfreie Dithiophosphorsäurederivate auf Basis von Glycid
ethern, deren Herstellung und deren Verwendung.
Metalldithiophosphate werden seit langem erfolgreich als Schmierstoffadditive, vor
allem zur Verbesserung der Verschleißschutzwirkung und der Alterungsstabilität von
Mineralölen, eingesetzt. Als besonders wirksam haben sich Zinkdithiophosphate
erwiesen. Jedoch genügen sie nicht allen Anforderungen, die neben den genannten an
ein Additiv als Bestandteil von Schmierstoffen für moderne Maschinen gestellt wer
den. So sind alle Metalldithiophosphate sogenannte Aschebildner, die störende Ab
lagerungen auf den geschmierten Reibelementen hervorrufen können. Auch können
Metallionen den oftmals erwünschten raschen biologischen Abbau der legierten
Schmierstoffe verzögern.
Es hat nicht an Versuchen gefehlt, sogenannte aschefreie (metallfreie) Dithiophos
phate herzustellen, die die angeführten Nachteile nicht aufweisen würden. So sind z. B.
Untersuchungen bekannt, Dithiophosphorsäuren durch Addition an ungesättigte Koh
lenwasserstoffe zu neutralisieren. Die Umsetzungen verlaufen jedoch unvollständig,
die Reaktionsprodukte sind in den üblichen Basisölen nur teilweise löslich und führen
zu einer Verschlechterung von deren Alterungsbeständigkeit. Weiter sind z. B.
metallfreie Dithiophosphate entwickelt worden durch Umsetzung von Dithiophos
phorsäuren, hergestellt aus sulfurierten Alkoholen und P4S10 mit epoxidiertem
oligomeren Propylen, die aufgrund ihrer spezifischen Eigenschaften als Korrosions
inhibitoren vorgeschlagen werden.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung war es, nach Derivaten von Dithiophosphor
säuren zu suchen, die metallfrei und in den üblichen Basisölen gut löslich sind, die
Verschleißschutzwirkung und die Alterungsstabilität der Basisöle verbessern und in
ihrer auf diese Eigenschaften bezogenen Wirksamkeit mit Zinkdithiophosphaten ver
gleichbar sind.
Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß mit Dithiophosphorsäurederivaten von epoxidier
ten Kohlenwasserstoffen, die in der Kohlenstoffkette etherverbrückt sind, gelöst.
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind daher Additionsprodukte aus Glycidethern und Dithio
phosphorsäuren unterschiedlicher Alkyl-, Aryl- bzw. gemischter Alkyl-Aryl-Gruppen
struktur.
Geeignete Glycidether sind z. B. 2-Ethylhexyl-glycidether oder n-Octyl-glycidether.
Geeignete Dithiophosphorsäuren sind z. B. O,O′-Dialkyl-, O,O′-Diaryl- bzw. O,O′-Alkyl-
Aryl-Dithiophosphorsäuren, deren Alkylgruppen verzweigt oder unverzweigt und
deren Arylgruppen alkyliert sein können.
Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß durch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung metallfreier
Dithiophosphorsäurederivate gelöst, indem in einem Rührbehälter Glycidether bzw.
Dithiophosphorsäure vorgelegt und Dithiophosphorsäure bzw. Glycidether langsam so
zugegeben wird, daß die dabei stattfindende exotherme chemische Reaktion bei einer
Reaktionstemperatur nur wenig oberhalb Raumtemperatur abläuft.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung ist die Herstellung der Additionsprodukte aus
Alkylglycidethern und Dithiophosphorsäuren. Die beiden genannten Komponenten
lassen sich im Molverhältnis 1 : 1 bei niedrigen, wenig über Raumtemperatur liegenden
Temperaturen glatt und vollständig umsetzen. Die Reaktion verläuft exotherm und
kann durch portionsweises Zudosieren der einen Komponente zur anderen leicht
beherrscht werden.
Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß die durch Reaktion von
Glycidethern mit Dithiophosphorsäuren entstehenden metallfreien Dithiophosphor
säurederivate in einem Schmierstoff-Grundöl, bestehend aus einem Mineralöl bzw.
einem natürlichen Öl, gelöst werden und die Verschleißschutzwirkung und die Alte
rungsstabilität des Grundöls verbessern.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist auch die Verwendung der beschriebenen Additionsver
bindungen als Eigenschaftsverbesserer in Schmierstoffen auf Basis Mineralöle bzw.
native Öle. Die Additionsverbindungen sind in den Basisflüssigkeiten gut löslich und
zeigen in den gebräuchlichen Tests verschleißschützende und alterungsinhibierende
Wirkung.
Die Erfindung soll an einem Beispiel näher erläutert werden.
Das Beispiel zeigt ein metallfreies Dithiophosphorsäurederivat, das gemäß der nach
folgend aufgezeigten Reaktionsgleichung durch Umsetzung von 2-Ethyl-hexyl-glycid
ether mit einer O,O′-Dialkyldithiophosphorsäure entsteht:
Nachfolgend wird das Verfahren zur Herstellung metallfreier Dithiophosphorsäure
derivate unter Laborbedingungen an einem Beispiel beschrieben:
In einem 2 l-Dreihalskolben mit Rührer, Rückflußkühler, Innenthermometer und
Tropftrichter werden 470 g (2,5 mol) 2-Ethyl-hexyl-glycidether vorgelegt. Anschlie
ßend werden bei 30 bis 40°C (Reaktion stark exotherm) 675 g (2,5 mol) gemischte
C3C4C8-Dithiophosphorsäure (C3: Isopropyl; C4: Isobutyl; C8: 2-Ethyl-hexyl) lang
sam zugetropft, so daß die Reaktionstemperatur konstant bleibt. Nach Zugabe der ge
samten Säure wird nach 2 Stunden bei 30 bis 40°C weitergerührt. Es entsteht eine
klare, hellgelbe Flüssigkeit, deren Viskosität 21,9 mm2/s (40°C), Dichte
1,0066 g/cm3 (20°C) und Brechungsindex 1,4820 (20°C) beträgt und die sich in
Rapsöl/Rüböl-Raffinat bzw. Mineralöl (paraffinbasisch) gut löst.
Die anwendungstechnischen Prüfungen des Produkts im Labor auf Verschleißschutz
wirkung und Alterungsinhibierung erbrachten folgende Ergebnisse:
Die Ergebnisse belegen die Erhöhung des Verschleißschutzes (VKA), des Lasttragevermögens
(FZG) und der Alterungsstabilität (Rotationsbombentest) von natürlichen
bzw. mineralischen Grundölen durch Additivierung mit erfindungsgemäßen Produk
ten.
Das Beispiel zeigt die Eignung der erfindungsgemäßen metallfreien Dithiophosphor
säurederivate als Additive in natürlichen und mineralischen Ölen.
Claims (5)
1. Metallfreie Dithiophosphorsäurederivate, gekennzeichnet dadurch, daß sie
durch chemische Addition von Dialkyl-, Diaryl- bzw. gemischten Alkyl-Aryl-Di
thiophosphorsäuren an Glycidether (Oxy-Oxirane) entstehen.
2. Verfahren zur Herstellung von metallfreien Dithiophosphorsäurederivaten, ge
kennzeichnet dadurch, daß Glycidether und Dithiophosphorsäuren miteinander
zur Reaktion gebracht werden, vorzugsweise im Molverhältnis eins zu eins,
wobei eine der Komponenten, vorzugsweise der Glycidether, vorgelegt und die
andere Komponente portionsweise zugegeben und dabei die Reaktionstempe
ratur niedrig gehalten wird, vorzugsweise im Temperaturbereich 15°C bis 50°C
und gegebenenfalls nach vollständiger Zugabe der zweiten Komponente eine
Nachreaktionszeit, vorzugsweise bis zu zwei Stunden, angeschlossen wird.
3. Verwendung von metallfreien Dithiophosphorsäurederivaten, erhalten durch
chemische Addition von Dialkyl-, Diaryl- bzw. gemischten Alkyl-Aryl-Dithio
phosphorsäuren an Glycidether, als Eigenschaftsverbesserer in Schmierstoffen.
4. Verwendung von metallfreien Dithiophosphorsäurederivaten nach Anspruch 3,
gekennzeichnet dadurch, daß das Basisöl des Schmierstoffs ein Mineralöl ist.
