Abstract

The attachment comprises a plastics disc (6) with connection elements which serve to secure the disc to external fittings on the chain surrounding the tyre. The disc is a ring-shaped and the connection elements are arranged on the disc in at least two diametrically opposed points. The elements which connect the chain to the disc may take the form of clips (7), hooks, sleeves or eyes. The disc may be profiled to increase its rigidity. There may be an outer retainer to protect against lose. ADVANTAGE - Suitable for wheels fitted with wide tyres. Avoids chain damage to the wheel rim.

Description

Die im Zuge der technischen Entwicklung von Kraftfahrzeugen praktizierte Steigerung der Leistung der Antriebsaggregate für die Fahrzeuge bedingt mehr oder weniger zwangsläufig auch eine Anpassung des Bremsvermögens der Fahrzeuge an die jewei lige Leistungssteigerung. Eine Verstärkung von Bremsen aber ist regelmäßig mit einem zusätzlichen Raumbedarf für deren Unterbringung verbunden. Da dem Außendurchmesser der Fahr zeugräder aus der Konstruktion der Fahrzeuge resultierende enge Grenzen gesetzt sind, ist ein Trend zum Einsatz von ver gleichsweise breiten Reifen mit niedrigen Querschnitten zu verzeichnen. Diese Entwicklung führt dazu, daß nicht einmal mehr die problemlose Montage von Gleitschutzketten mit ge schlossenen äußeren Halterungen möglich ist, weil die Höhe der Reifenflanken für die Erzielung eines sicheren Sitzes der Gleitschutzkette nicht mehr ausreicht, falls man die äußere Halterung so dimensioniert, daß sie im montierten Zustand nur gegen die Reifenflanke zur Anlage kommen kann. In Fig. 1 ist 1 ein Fahrzeugrad, auf das eine Gleitschutzket te montiert ist, deren nicht erkennbare innere Halterung durch eine über die Lauffläche des Fahrzeugrades 1 geführte Spannkette 2 spannbar ist, die an ihrem freien Ende einen Haken 3 aufweist, der in ein Glied einer geschlossenen Sei tenkette einhängbar ist, die die äußere Halterung 4 bildet.
