Die Erfindung betrifft ein Bauteil zum Einbau in geringem Abstand unter der äußeren Karosseriehaut eines Kraftfahrzeugs im aufprallgefährdeten Bereich von Fußgängern mit einem aus zwei schalenförmigen Teilen bestehenden Gehäuse, die bei einer übermäßigen Belastung teleskopartig ineinander schiebbar sind.The invention relates to a component for installation at a short distance under the outer body skin of a motor vehicle in the area at risk of impact of pedestrians with a housing consisting of two shell-shaped parts which can be telescopically pushed into one another in the event of excessive load.
Um bei einem Aufprall eines Fußgängers auf die äußere Karosseriehaut eines Kraftfahrzeugs die Verletzungsgefahr möglichst gering zu halten, wird gefordert, daß unter der äußeren Karosseriehaut angeordneten alle Bauteile von dieser einen gewissen Abstand aufweisen. Wenn dieser Mindestabstand wegen der Einbaubedingungen nicht eingehalten werden kann, dann muß gewährleistet sein, daß das entsprechende Bauteil bereits bei geringen Aufprallkräften leicht deformiert werden kann, um Verletzungen eines Fußgängers zu vermeiden. Erfindungsgemäß wird diese Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß sich die beiden schalenförmigen Gehäuseteile über von den Gehäuseteilen unabhängig ausgebildete Stützelemente aufeinander abstützen, die nach Überschreiten einer bestimmten Grenzbelastung schlagartig nachgeben. Da diese Stützelemente als von den beiden Gehäuseteilen unabhängige Elemente ausgebildet sind, kann ihre Raumform und insbesondere ihr Material optimal an ihre Funktion angepaßt werden. Die Stützelemente können beispielsweise aus einem verformbaren Material hergestellt sein, so daß sie bei Überschreiten einer bestimmten Grenzlast ausknicken. Die Stützelemente können aber auch aus einem spröden Material hergestellt sein, das bei Überschreiten einer Grenzlast bricht oder birst. In beiden Fällen läßt sich diese Grenzlast genau bestimmen, und es ist eine beliebige Wiederholbarkeit gewährleistet. Da die Stützelemente aus einem anderen Material wie die Gehäuseteile bestehen können, kann das für die jeweiligen Anforderungen günstigste Material gewählt werden. Für die Stützelemente kann daher ein temperatur- und alterungsbeständiges Material gewählt werden, so daß eine gleichbleibende Bruchlast gewährleistet ist.According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the two shell-shaped housing parts are supported on one another via support elements which are formed independently of the housing parts and which suddenly yield after a certain limit load has been exceeded. Das eine schalenförmige Gehäuseteil besteht vorzugsweise aus einem Boden und einer Zarge, die durch Spannverschlüsse miteinander verbunden sind. Die Zarge hat am freien Rand einen nach innen gerichteten Flansch, der einen nach außen gerichteten Flansch des anderen schalenförmigen Gehäuseteils untergreift. Dabei sind im Trennbereich des Bodens und der Zarge bzw. der Zarge und des anderen Gehäuseteils verformbare Dichtungen angeordnet.
