Description
Method and device for the continuous breaking down of liquids different specific gravity existing mixtures. The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for separating liquids of different specifics Weight and is particularly applicable to the) Ä 'recovery of oil from his Mixing with water. The procedure for separating liquids of this type exists according to the invention in a preliminary separation of the mixture, a subsequent removal the heavier liquid next to the remaining part of the lighter liquid Liquid and a subsequent further separation by adding the Mixture within an already separated part of the heavier liquid in increases the height, with the lighter liquid on top and the heavier liquid is deducted below. The method of the present invention can be performed with the aid of a centrally located pre-separation chamber into which the mixture is introduced, be exercised as follows: a) by introducing the heavier liquid, which contains slightly lighter liquid from the pre-separation chamber into an outer container, which forms an annular chamber surrounding the pre-separation chamber; b) through Introducing the liquid from the pre-separation chamber into the annular chamber several separate bodies, which are preferably equidistant are located from each other; c) by introducing the liquid into the annular chamber at each of the points mentioned in the direction from bottom to top, preferably by the Moving the liquid mixture against a flattened baffle or bowl, which is arranged below the mouth of introduction pipes and the mixture directed upwards. According to a further part of the invention, the heavier Liquid passed from the separation chamber through an annular filter chamber that surrounds the separation chamber, eliminating the last remnants of the lighter Liquid are deposited.
The pre-separation can be carried out in a chamber with a conical shape be, the chamber is open on all sides at the lower end and at the top m one Pipe part ends to receive the separated lighter liquid. The real one Separation is carried out in a container surrounding the conical chamber, the lighter liquid collecting in the upper part of the container while the heavier liquid drained from the lower part and then to a height is performed, which allows a hydrostatic equilibrium .on the one hand between the column of liquid outside the separation chamber and on the other side of the column the heavier liquid next to the lighter liquid above it to manufacture this chamber.
The invention is based on their application, application in the separation of Oil and water are described, with the drawing showing one way of performing the method serving device represents.

A conical funnel 6 is arranged in the middle of a container 7 and is open on all sides at its lower edge, while a cylindrical vessel 8 is connected to the upper part and is surrounded by a housing 9 serving to hold the separated oil. io is the feeder box, which is divided by the vertical wall ii into two 'compartments 1 2 and 1 3 , both of which are open at the top. The mixture to be separated is through the supply pipe i q. passed into the compartment 12 flows over the edge of the wall into the compartment ix 1 3 and then passes through the pipe 1 5 in the hopper 6 by flowing against the flat, bowl-shaped baffle sixteenth The oil rises here and collects in the tubular part 8 and in the upper part of the chamber 6; in order to keep this oil in a liquid state, heating tubes 17 are provided. The separated oil flows through the wall of the tubular part 8 into the housing 9. An annular end plate 18 connects the cone 6 with an inner wall and prevents the heavier liquid or the water in addition to oil from escaping to the outside. The tubes 20, which in any number, z. B. four (Fig.2), are provided, lead the water upwards into the outer container or the separation chamber 22, and that they direct it through the downwardly extending mouth against bowl-shaped baffles 21, which act similar to the plate 16 and the liquid after Steer upwards, which facilitates the collection of the lighter liquid or oil. This saves in the upper part of the separation chamber 22 which is laterally through the wall 1 and 9 closed at the top by the ceiling 23rd The separated oil, which if necessary, is kept liquid by the heating pipe 2 [,] passes through the pipes 25 into the oil housing g.
The heavier liquid or the water, which is now oil in the is substantially freed, goes from the lower part of the chamber 22 through the annular Room 26 and flows over the weir 27 to the upper surface of the ceiling 23 on which a vertical, perforated wall 28 is arranged. Between this and the parallel Wall 29 is packed with a corresponding filter material. The water flows under the wall 29 into the channel 3o and then through the annular filter chamber 31, the is completely or partially filled with filter material. The heavier liquid or the water leaves the lower end of this annular filter chamber 31 through the Grate 31a, flows into the annular chamber 3 ib and is from here through the pipe 32 to the drain 33 (Dept. [and 5).
In order to maintain the hydrostatic balance between the column of the heavier liquid outside the chamber 6 and the column of the heavier Liquid next to the column of the lighter liquid within the chamber 6 and the vessel 8, this is at the upper end with a movable sleeve 8a, which is adjustable = to regulate the drainage level of the oil. if required, each of the tubes 25 may have similar ones, not shown in the drawing Sleeves can be provided in order to be able to regulate the drainage level. 34 is a tube for insertion of steam, air or water to clean the chamber 3 i.
