Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Luftkühlung für Explosionskraftmaschinen, bei welcher die arn Zylinderkopf einströmende Luft in mehrere am Zylinder anliegende und Wärme gut leitende Röhren entlangstreicht. Diese Röhren vermitteln direkt den Austausch der von der Zylinderwand übernommenen Wärme mit der die Kühlvorrichtung umgebenden Außenluft, was bisher dadurch geschah, daß die Außenluft in einer oder mehreren unabhängigen, um den Zylinder gewickelten Röhren schraubenförmig um den Arbeitszylinder geführt wurde. Diese Luftkühlung bot den Nachteil, daß, auch wenn die Luft durch paarig angeordnete Röhren uni den Zylinder von entgegengesetzten Enden desselben geführt wurde, wie Versuche ergaben, die oben oder unten eintretende Kühlluft schon bei der dritten Rohrwindung keine Kühlwirkung hervorbringen konnte. Dieser Nachteil wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch beseitigt, daß die Röhren, in welche die Kühlluft am Zylinderkopf an dessen heißester Stelle einströmt, in großer Zahl und parallel der Zylinderachse angeordnet sind.
