Description
Cleaning device for the exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, in which fresh air is supplied to the exhaust gases at various times. The invention relates to its cleaning device for the exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, in which fresh air is supplied to the exhaust gases at various times. It is known * hen such Abgase- with combustion air to vernsc nn imschädn she mii by exot ne to make Lich and lead unpurified into the open. It is also known to mix fresh air with the exhaust gases for the purpose of soundproofing, the exhaust gas movement being reversed by resistors built into the line. A cleaning of the gases does not take place in this known device either, which incidentally has the disadvantage that it significantly reduces the efficiency of the machine due to the counter pressure of the gases reversing at the resistors. The invention provides a device in which the exhaust gases in pipe sections of the exhaust line are also brought into contact with fresh air, but this device should advantageously prepare the exhaust gases for their cleaning and also the temperature and pressure of the exhaust gases on one for Reduce the preservation of the device and lower the level more favorable for the performance of the internal combustion engine.
According to the invention, the advantages are achieved in that the individual Pipe sections of the exhaust line, which in a known manner by funnel-shaped Superstructures fresh air is supplied, openings and guide tongues for transferring of exhaust gases after the interstices, and that the air-mixed exhaust gases several filter chambers are fed, which are connected in series and with a Facility for ventilation with fresh air are provided. The device according to the invention is shown in one embodiment in the drawing.
Fig. I shows a broken longitudinal section through the exhaust pipe the cleaning device.
Fig.2 shows a vertical and Fig.3 a horizontal longitudinal section through the housing of cleaning chambers connected to the exhaust pipe.
Abb. Fig. ¢ shows a longitudinal section through a detail of the exhaust line on a larger scale.
The exhaust pipe consists of several coaxially connected one behind the other Pipe sections i, 2, 3 and ¢, which have funnel-shaped structures known per se 5 for the supply of fresh air and are provided with sectional cross-sections. The funnels 5 open into between two interlocking pipe sections provided spaces of annular cross-section. The inner of the two pipe sections is provided with openings 6 and guide tongues 7, by means of which exhaust gases be transferred to the spaces in between. The one with the largest cross-section Pipe section q. opens into legs arranged in the housing of the cleaning device Chamber 9, which is provided with a replaceable metal chip filter i o. To the Filter chamber 9 is an air chamber i S and a filter chamber i i connected in series, which contains active hollow or other filter materials. The pipe sections i, 2, 3, 4. are connected to one another at 13 and have sieves to trap impurities the fresh air.
Funnel-shaped aerator tubes 15 are attached to the front of the housing S and open into the filter chamber ii. Wire screens for catching insects or other impurities in the fresh air are built into the tube 5. Are similar in the casing cleaning openings 1 6 and 17 for the removal of deposits from the filter chambers 9 and ii and behind the filter chamber i i an air chamber 19 which opens through a pipe 12 to the outside. In the exhaust pipe exhaust gases pass through the openings 6 and via the guide tongues 7 iü the spaces between the pipe sections i, 2, 3, q. Get fresh air supply, and mix there with the fresh air, whereupon the mixture is fed to the filter chambers 9 and ii one after the other, in which the exhaust gases are cleaned. The ventilation of the housing of the filter chambers has a cleaning effect on the filter and helps to prevent clogging of the filter as far as possible.
