Description

The invention relates to a soot filter for diesel engines a burner that placed on the filter candles Soot layers burn off, the engine exhaust gases through a tangential inlet into one surrounding the burner Annulus are guided, from which they in the combustion chamber get to the filter room.

It is known that the exhaust gas of the soot filter Diesel engine through a tangential inlet into one Introduce annulus that surrounds the burner and from which the exhaust gases flow to the filter chamber. The one in the annulus orbiting exhaust gases interfere with those through the inlet incoming gases, so that considerable turbulence arise that the total flow resistance of the Increase the soot filter.

The object of the invention is in a soot filter the lowest possible total at the outset to achieve flow resistance.

This object is achieved in that the Area of the annulus into which the exhaust gases enter Area of the annular chamber in which the exhaust gases after complete Pass through the annular chamber through a wall is separated.

Through such a wall, especially through a baffle it is ensured that the through the inlet in the Exhaust gas stream entering the annulus has no additional Turbulence is exposed and thus the annulus can flow through relatively undisturbed, then leave the annulus at the baffle at the latest and to get to the filter room. This will make it even Flow in front of, in and behind the annulus, so that the total flow resistance of the soot filter is significantly reduced. Such a small one Flow resistance of the overall system leads to this considerable advantage that more soot is deposited because there is a thicker layer of soot before the pressure to flow through the soot filter no longer is sufficient. This can cause a burn in larger ones Time intervals occur and the lifespan of the soot filter is higher.

Es zeigtAn embodiment of the invention is in the drawings shown and is described in more detail below. It shows

Fig. 1 Einen axialen Längsschnitt durch den Rußfilter und Fig. 1 An axial longitudinal section through the soot filter and

Fig. 2 einen axialen Längsschnitt durch das Gehäuse im Bereich des Brenners, Fig. 2 is an axial longitudinal section through the housing in the region of the burner,

Fig. 3 a section through the soot filter according to III-III in FIG. 1.

The soot filter has a housing 1 with a lateral tangentially arranged inlet 2 and a coaxially arranged outlet 3 . The inlet leads into an annular space 4 which coaxially surrounds a burner 5 . The flame gases emerging from the burner 5 are deflected by a guide plate 6 and guided into the filter space 7 , in which a larger number of filter candles 8 extend parallel to one another and axially parallel to the housing 1 .

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the filter candles 8 are depth filters with ceramic windings 9 on perforated metal filter tubes 10 . The tubes 10 are closed on the end facing the burner and open with the opposite ends in a collecting space 11 which is surrounded by a silencer 12 and leads to the outlet 3 .

The exhaust gases of the diesel engine pass through the inlet 2 into the annular space 4 and from there via the combustion chamber 4 a into the filter space 7 . They flow through the filter chamber 7 and penetrate the cylindrical walls 8 a of the filter candles 8 , in order to then flow through the interior of the filter candles 8 into the collecting chamber 11 and to the outlet 3 . Here, the soot present in the exhaust gases settles in the ceramic windings 9 and on the outside as a layer, which is not shown in the drawing.

In the annular space 4, a guide plate 13 is fixed, which separates the region 14 of the annular space 4, into which the exhaust gases enter from the portion 15 of the Ringkraums 4, the exhaust gases reach the after completely passing through the annular space. Here, the baffle 13 is so inclined to the impinging flow that the exhaust gas flow is led to the filter chamber 7 .
