Abstract
The invention relates to a soot filter (1) for diesel engines with a burner (S) which burns off the soot layers deposited on the filter tubes (8), the engine exhaust gases being guided through a tangential inlet (2) into a ring space (4) which surrounds the burner (5) and from which they pass via the combustion chamber (5a) into the filter space (7), the region of the ring space (4) into which the exhaust gases enter being separated by a wall (13) from the region of the ring space (4) into which the exhaust gases pass after passing completely through the ring space. <IMAGE>
