Description
Process and device for the production of hydrogen and oxygen from electrolytically developed oxyhydrogen. In patent specification 414187 is a method and a device for the production of hydrogen and oxygen described which characterized in that in electrolytic apparatus to the exclusion of Separating devices oxyhydrogen gas is generated under moderate excess pressure, after which the gas dried while maintaining the development pressure and with the aid from liquid nitrogen in condensers to the liquefaction of oxygen is frozen.
In this method, the electric battery is kept sealed and its accessories at the required overpressure of approximately z atm. certain Circumstances. This is avoided according to the present invention in that the gases under normal overpressure or overpressure only by a few percent be developed and that the compression to the required pressure by a Rotary pump is effected, which is such that the gas space in it is considerable is subdivided, as is preferably the case with rotating pumps with a high number of revolutions the case is. This prevents dangerous explosion shocks from occurring. Water ring pumps are particularly suitable. These also allow in easier Way - by circulating the circulating water through a cooling device - the cooling of the warm gases and the 'suppression of the water vapor contained in them. However, turbo blowers or other similar devices can also be used. Such pumps are relatively small due to their high number of revolutions easily develop explosion-proof, so that they also in the event of inflammation not be damaged.
