Bei diesen Geräten wird Wasser in einem Ver dampfungsgefäß verdampft und über einen Dampfauslaß, wie eine Auslaßdüse, auf einen Patienten, beispielsweise das Gesicht eines Patienten, gerichtet, um dort die erwünsch ten kosmetischen oder medizinischen Wirkungen zu entfal ten. In verstärktem Maße werden Wirkstoffzusätze, wie Kräuterzusätze, vorgesehen. Hierzu werden in den Dampf weg zwischen Verdampfungsgefäß und Dampfauslaß Wirkstoff träger, beispielsweise ähnlich Tee-Eiern oder flachen Sie ben, auf denen Kräuter lose oder verpackt aufgelegt wer den, vorgesehen. Das Auffanggefäß 12 kann an den Wänden des am Verdampfungsgefäß 2 durch radial oder sternförmig sich erstreckende Streben gehal ten sein. Das Auffanggefäß 12 kann eine flache Schale mit einem überstehenden Rand sein, der auf einem mit Streben fest verbundenen Ring zur Halterung des Auffanggefäßes 12 aufliegt.
