zweifach substituierte 1,4-Phenylengruppe, PhFF bedeutet
gen der Formel I gelöst.
und ausgeprägt positiver dielektrischer Anisotropie her
stellbar.
K₃/K₁, hoher optischer Anisotropie Δn, positiver dielektri
eignen, erheblich verbreitert.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I besitzen einen breiten Anwen
dungsbereich.
Formel I flüssigkristallinen Basismaterialien aus anderen
liner Phasen verwenden lassen.
Phasen enthalten.

angegebene Bedeutung, sofern nicht ausdrücklich etwas ande

besitzen, Z¹ die für Formel I angegebene Bedeutung besitzt,
und
bedeutet.

dungen der Formel I umsetzt.
Villani und A. Silveira in J. Org. Chem. 43 (1978) 358
beschriebenen Verfahren.
Verbindungen der Formel I können auch über die Fritsch-But
tenberg-Wiechell-Umlagerung (Ann. 279, 319, 327, 332, 1894)
hergestellt werden, bei der 1,1-Diaryl-2-halogenethylene
umgelagert werden zu Diarylacetylenen in Gegenwart starker
Basen.
Verbindungen der Formel I können weiterhin hergestellt wer
den aus 4-substituierten Phenylacetylenen und Arylhalogeni
den in Gegenwart eines Palladiumkatalysators, z. B. Bis(tri
phenylphosphin)-palladium(II)-chlorid, und Kupfer(I)-jodid
(beschrieben in Synthesis (1980) 627 oder Tetrahedron
Letters 27 (1986) 1171).

extrahiert. Die vereinten organischen Phasen werden
über Magnesiumsulfat getrocknet, filtriert und im
Vakuum eingedampft. Das ungereinigte Produkt wird in
150 ml Toluol aufgenommen und mit 4 g p-Toluolsulfon
säure versetzt und am Wasserabscheider 1 Stunde zum
Sieden erhitzt.
propylamin in 50 m THF) gegeben. Nach Aufwärmen auf
Raumtemperatur wird 20 Stunden gerührt. Nach üblicher
Aufarbeitung und Kristallisation aus Methanol erhält
man das 2,6-Difluortolan 1B, K 53 N 56 I.

Zu einem Gemisch aus 50 mmol 4-Ethoxy-2,6-difluorjodbenzol
(hergestellt aus 3-Ethoxy-1,5-difluorbenzol mit n-Butyl
lithium und Jod), 45 mmol 4-Fluorphenylacetylen (herstellbar
z. B. nach Smith et al., Am. Soc. 63 (1941) 1175) und 22 ml
Piperidin gibt man bei Raumtemperatur 2 mmol Tetra-(tri
phenylphosphin)-palladium, 4 mmol Triphenylphosphin und
1 mmol Kupfer(I)-jodid und rührt 12 Stunden bei Raumtempera
tur.
tolan, K 99 I.

Ein Gemisch aus 0,02 m 4-(trans-4-Propylcyclohexyl)-2,6-di
fluorphenylacetylen, 0,02 m 4-Trifluormethoxyiodbenzol und
50 ml Triethylamin wird bei Raumtemperatur mit 0,4 mmol
Bis-(triphenylphosphin)-palladium(II)-chlorid und 0,2 mmol
CuJ versetzt.
man 4-Trifluormethoxy-4′-(trans-4-propylcyclohexyl)-2′,6′-
