Description

Photochemical production of printing forms using photosensitized resins. The present process relates to the photochemical processes in which resin layers containing photosensitive substances are exposed to the action of light under a negative and then developed with alkalis or organic liquids. The present process consists in using the phenol formaldehyde resins which are soluble in alcohol and which can be converted into insoluble, infusible products by heating (see German patents 228639 and 28145t1). After development, hardening is carried out at normal or increased pressure (see German patent specification 2,33803) . This results in a reproduction that is particularly resistant to alkalis, acids or organic solvents, so that the etching and finishing of the printing forms are also more reliable.

To stabilize the resins, bichromates, in particular, can be used threefold chromic alkalis, if necessary with the addition of reducing acids and salts, z. B. formic acid, hyposulphurous, sulphurous-hypophosphorous and phosphorous Salts, silver chromate, silver chloride, copper bromide, cobalt nitrate, iron oxide salts, ATanganioxalate and the like can be used.

Claims (1)

Claim: Photochemical process for the production of printing forms using photosensitized resins, characterized in that the resins used are phenol formaldehyde resins which are soluble in alcohol and become infusible by heating and which make them insoluble by heating in a known manner after exposure and development.
