Verfahren zur Herstellung von Briketten. Die Herstellung von Briketten aus Koksgrieß oder Koksstaub und Pech ist bekannt. Ferner kennt man auch schon Verfahren, um Brikettspeise aus Kohlenklein und Pech unter Dampfeinführung in einem offenen Zylinder zu mischen. Hierbei hat es sich gezeigt, daß der Dampf (auch Frischdampf), weil wasserhaltig, die klebende Fähigkeit des Peches nachteilig beein$ußt. Dieser Mißstand kann auch dann nicht beseitigt werden, wenn man die Bearbeitung der Brikettspeise aus Kohlenstücken und Pech o. dgl. mit Dampf, wie es gleichfalls bekannt ist, in einem geschlossenen Behälter unter Druck vornahm. Man mußte infolgedessen in einem zweiten Arbeitsvorgang die Brikettmasse in einem geschlossenen Zylinder unter der Einwirkung indirekter Wärme einem weiteren Mischvorgang unterwerfen, um auf diese Weise ein Überziehen der einzelnen Kohlestückchen mit dem Bindemittel zu bewirken und die Kohäsion zu vergrößern. Es hat sich nun überraschenderweise gezeigt, daß es dieses zweiten Arbeitsvorganges nicht bedarf, wenn man an Stelle von Kohlestückchen oder Kohlenklein und Pechstaub o. dgl. Koksgrieß oder -staub mit Pech durch unmittelbares Einleiten von möglichst wasserfreiem Dampf (Frischdampf) in einem möglichst dampfdicht geschlossenen Behälter unter Druck mischt.
