Zum Festhalten des Schuhwerks in Luftdruckpressen, in denen die Sohlen aufgeklebt werden, dienen meist Spindelpressen, bei denen nach dem Herunterklappen und Feststellen eines Bügels eine darin geführte, die Preßbacken tragende Spindel gegen das Schuhwerk geschraubt wird.
