Description
Preservatives for eggs and similar substances. It is known, a solution of an aluminum soap in a volatile solvent, e.g. B. Gasoline, to be used for preserving eggs. There is always one Pretreatment of eggs, e.g. B. with dilute sulfuric acid, instead, whereby under Formation of calcium sulfate the pores of the egg shell are filled and sealed. This double treatment is time consuming and therefore uneconomical, but it has also has the further disadvantage that the eggs as a result of clogging of the pores the egg shell often bursts later during cooking.
These two disadvantages are thereby eliminated in accordance with the present invention remedied that tnan for the production of the Fier-preserving coating an under . Use of wax, preferably beeswax, made metal soap (aluminum, Calcite, '-fagnesiuul, zinc) are used. This soap sticks after evaporation of the to their solution 1: release volatile solvent firmly on the eggs and forms a particularly dense egg without pretreating the eggs with sulfuric acid and smooth shell that protects the contents of the eggs. Come the preserved eggs in warm water, this will melt the shell and prevent the eggs from bursting when they are boiled. The best solvent for the soap is a chloroethylene compound Trichlorethylene, is used. Through this the soap is easily and abundantly dissolved, it is also sufficiently volatile and has compared to the use of gasoline o. nor the advantage that the eggs are not given an unpleasant taste. the The preservative is produced in such a way that the wax metal soap is used of the metals mentioned and powdered in about twice the amount of trichlorethylene solves. The eggs or the like are immersed in this solution and then allowed to dry laid down.
