Abstract

Solids are recovered by placing soln. in a tubular receptacle, and passing drying gas in via an inlet directing it preferentially along the receptacle wall and into intimate contact with the soln., and discharging the gas through another conduit in the inlet while avoiding dilution with incoming gas to maintain a significant temp. diff. between incoming and outgoing gas. Change in evapn. rate is sensed by monitoring the temp. of the evaporation process and the flow of drying gas is decreased in response to this. Incoming gas is pref. directed in a helical path from the receptacle top along the interior wall and used gas is removed centrally, with its temp. sensed as it exits the receptacle. U
