Der Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung betrifft eine Verbundmaschine mit einem Wechselstrom-Hochdruckzylinder und einem Gleichstrom-; iederdruckzylinder. Beide Zylinder sind nebeneinander angeordnet und die Kurbeln um i8o° versetzt. Der Hub des Hochdruckzylinders ist annähernd um den Unterschied der Kolbenbreite größer gewählt als derjenige des Niederdruckzylinders. Durch die Kurbelversetzung um i8o° sowie durch die unterschiedlichen Hublängen werden die Massendrücke der Hoch- und Niederdruckseiten annähernd gleich, so daß insbesondere für die bei Lokomobilen übliche Anordnung der Maschine auf dem Kessel ein sehr ruhiger Stand gewährleistet wird. Des weiteren wird durch die Anwendung eines größeren Hubes auf der Hochdruckseite der Vorteil erzielt, daß der Zylinderdurchmesser und damit der Trieb-,verksdruck gleich ausfällt, wodurch die Anwendung sehr hoher Dampfspannungen ermöglicht wird.Compound steam engine with alternating current high pressure cylinder and direct current low pressure cylinder.
