KLASSE 6: Bier, Branntwein, Wein, Essig und Hefe.CLASS 6: Beer, brandy, wine, vinegar and yeast.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 30. December 1885 ab.Patented in the German Empire on December 30, 1885.
The mash fermented in the fermentation vats or other liquids to be distilled are pumped into the preheater at α by the mash pump, flow through it and enter pipe c at b, heated to the boiling point, and from there into the apparatus. In order to distribute the mash evenly, the uppermost grate is inclined on all four sides, and the mash falls in an evenly distributed state onto the grate underneath. In order to achieve a regelmäfsiges dropping of the mash, the gratings are displaced by 90 0 from each other. The mash now falls from one grate to the other, and is completely de-iced by the rising vapors which flow in through the steam valve in the lower part of the apparatus. The stillage flows into the preheater located under the apparatus and here gives off its heat to the mash located in the heating pipes of the preheater. The alcohol vapors developed from the mash rise up to the Lutter column and come first in four hood trays and then in a number of sieve trays. The hood and sieve bases consist of two or more parts and, when they are cleaned or replaced, can easily be removed through the hand holes made on the apparatus. The grate bars in the mash column can also be removed through the hand holes and cleaned. The alcohol vapors rise from the Lutter column to the condenser and from there to the cooler, where they are completely compressed. As a result of this internal arrangement of the stills it is possible to remove all parts through the hand holes and to clean them, or to replace them with new ones, without having to dismantle the apparatus. One can enter the machine through two manholes attached to the apparatus. This device is of great advantage for molasses and lye distillers, because it allows the sludge and lime which has built up inside to be completely removed.
