Abstract

Drivers of motor vehicles should be forced to reduce speed, particularly in residential areas, not only because of the noise but also especially because of the danger of accidents! The application therefore proposes to provide such roads with "shaking zones" by means of layers of concrete, plastic strips or other, possibly combined, materials which, from experience, cause the driver to reduce his speed. To achieve an officially limited target for the speeds, in particular appropriate plastic bands would be suitable to determine, in tests, not only according to the depth of the grooves-as an imitation of the cobblestone pavement-but also in the number, spacing and width of the layer, which arrangements could give the best effect.
