Abstract

The trigger (4) of a handgun is fitted with a safety slider (6) which prevents the trigger from actuating a sear lever (3). When the slider is pushed upwards, so that a ledge on its face (23) clears the upper lever end (20), the lever can then be swung in a clockwise direction to release the pivoted support (2) which, in turn, releases the firing pin (9). The gun is fired by first pressing the trigger forwards so that a lever (17) passes under a roller (14) of a spring-loaded lever (5). The trigger is then pressed rearwards and swings the sear lever clear of the pivoted support. The force required to pull the trigger rearwards can be adjusted by varying the retracted position of the lever by an adjusting screw.
