Abstract

The application relates to a filter press unit having an endless filter belt continuously passing through. In order to be able to use higher pressing forces than was possible hitherto for such continuous units, according to the invention the filter belt, in the area of action of a plate press, is conducted between the press plates in longitudinally enclosing endless roller chains with the aid of synchronously co-running flexible pressing belts. By this novel configuration of a filter press unit, the invention combines the advantages of the plate press with those of conventional drum units.

Description

The invention relates to devices for continuous Filtering with a driven endless filter belt that takes up the filter material, Those used industrially in the form of filter presses for a wide variety of purposes Filtration devices are used to separate undissolved substances from liquids, usually on the recovery of the liquid freed from the solid Backlog is targeted. An important part of such filter presses is the endlessly guided filter belt between the edge strips formed on both sides picks up the filter material and uses holes made according to certain distribution patterns, Transverse grooves or other recesses or perforations under the applied Liquid flowing out of the compression pressure can flow off. Mostly for economic reasons Reasons for the desired continuous operation of the presses are based on the drum design with at least one of the filter belt umschlunge NEN rotary drum ahead, if press pressures of the lowest order of magnitude are not to be taken up. Drum presses but are subject to design restrictions with regard to the applicable pressures, those with known technical means such as simultaneous action of negative pressure on the filter material is slightly exceeded, but basically cannot be canceled. In contrast, the invention has as an object new design of filter presses with the aim of improving the manure of the high compression pressures that have significantly exceeded the usual level and, if necessary also to enable higher temperatures with a continuously running procedure.

According to the invention, in devices of the type described above the filter belt in a straight line between the synchronously running and rolling elements oppositely adjustable heated plates of a plate press supporting each other flexible pressure belts. The rolling elements are useful in themselves known way articulated to each other in a press plate in each case Longitudinally wrapped endless roller chains summarized.

The invention combines the advantages of the plate presses with those of the drum systems and thereby creates a new type of pressure filter device, the the effect of high and extremely high pressure on the filter material in a steady flow Operation permitted. The appropriate setting of the elastomeric material Provided that the filter belt is in place, the filtering process can be started by heating up the filter material supported by the heated press plates and the remaining filter residue be prepared for further processing at the same time. changes in texture or in the structure of the filter bands do not need to be made. The invention rather, it expands the area of application of the known filter belts and creates new, Applications that have hitherto been generally closed to them. Compared to comparable intermittent plate presses are characterized by the novel continuous Filter presses due to higher economic efficiency and, as a result, reduced operating costs the end. The uniformly continuous procedure also leaves a lower one Expect the systems to be susceptible to failure and to have a longer service life.

The invention is based on the schematic representation of an embodiment illustrated in the drawing. In the drawing: Figure 1 is the input section a new type of filter press in longitudinal section and Fig. 2 is a cross section through the filter press according to FIG. 1 on an enlarged scale.

The illustration in Fig. 1 is solely for understanding the invention Necessary limited. It shows a plate press 3 of conventional design, such as those used, for example is used to manufacture chipboard or similar press articles, and the heated press platens wrapped around a pair of roller chains 4 in the longitudinal direction 5 as the actual pressure elements. Both press plates are by lifting cylinders, not shown, assigned to the lower plate, for example adjustable against each other in order to achieve the desired pressure effect on the through the press room Filter material transported through and simultaneously heated by thermal convection 6 exercise.

A also known per se is used to pick up the filter material 6 Filter belt 7, which in the illustrated embodiment consists of a solvent-resistant Rubber with embedded reinforcing fabric layers 17 and attached on both sides longitudinal edge strips 27 is made. The one between the marginal ridges 27 formed free space is dimensionally matched to the upper press plate 5, that this without sliding contact with the belt that is baJegten relative to it in the free space can immerse. The roller chains 4 run synchronously with the filter 7 directly on the surfaces of the two plates 5 and are also supported on the other hand synchronously rotating flexible steel strips 8 in the direction against the filter belt.

According to the cross-sectional view in Fig. 2, the arrangement is made so that that the lower steel band supports and carries the filter belt over its entire surface, while the upper steel band on the one underlaid with a conventional filter cloth 9 Filter material 6 rests on it.

The filter material is therefore subject to the passage through the press room the pressure effect derived from the working stroke of the lower press platen 5. the Liquid squeezed out in this way seeps through the filter cloth and can through Transverse grooves 37 formed in the belt surface and penetrating the edge strips 27 can be withdrawn to the outside.
