Abstract
1. A blocking device for surface waves for a symmetrical antenna working in the operational frequency range with a connection dipole (1) and, connected to this directly or via a symmetrization element (2), a coaxial cable (8) with an external insulation sheath, preferred use of said antenna being for television reception over the entire UHF range of 470 - 790 MHz, for said blocking device for surface waves the starting section of the coaxial cable on the antenna side being located with clearance by means of a metallic bracket and a section of the coaxial cable connected to the starting section immediately at the metallic bracket, is characterized in that the section of the coaxial cable (8) located immediately at the metallic bracket (3, 13) is encircled by a metallic clip (5, 12) and that the lengths of the starting section on the antenna side (11, 19) as well as that of the section of the coaxial cable (8) encircled by the metallic clip are in each case one quarter of a wavelength within the operational frequency range.
