Abstract

A radio antenna for reception or transmission comprises a substantially flat structure having a number of spaced, approximately parallel conductors 13 with a common connection 14 at least at one end thereof and a winding 15 around the conductors connected in series between the common connection and a signal terminal 16. The parallel conductors may be arranged in sets on either side of a flat former 10 and may also embrace a thin layer of ferrite particles on a suitable substrate. The antenna may be enclosed in an electrostatic screen 18 and/or protective sheath 19. For high frequency use the antenna as above described may be set at the focus of a reflector. <IMAGE>
