Abstract

Cold pilger mill comprises a rolling mechanism for intermittent rolling of tube over a mandrel. The mechanism includes a pair of grooved rolls rotatably supported by a pair of saddles reciprocated by a motor driven crank shaft. A detector is associated with the rolling mechanism for detecting the rolling phase. A controller receives signals from the detector and supplies operation signals to motors of a feeding mechanism and a turning mechanism so that the resp. mechanisms are operated at completion of each rolling stroke.
