Abstract

Blowing plate and nozzles, of a moulding machine for self-curing sand, are cleaned immediately after the moulding operation. The plate, held on a turning frame, is pivoted through 90 deg. It is lowered opposite the compressed air cleansing plate, which moves hroizontally towards it. Sand on top of the plate is tipped off, and nozzles with rubber ends, carried by the plate, engage the flowing nozzles and blow them clear. For a number of nozzles the air supply may be divided into several separate circuits. Alternatively a cleaning jacket, with an air injection hole in a flexible end plate, may be moved over the blowing plate.
