Gemäß der Erfindung wird diese Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß ein aus Quarz oder sonst einem schwer schmelzbaren Material bestehendes, dickwandiges Gefäß großer Abmessungen mit einer äußeren auf alle Teile des Gefäßes wirkenden Heizvorrichtung versehen sowie mit einer Hochvakuumpumpe verbunden wird. Die Heizvorrichtung gestattet jeweils eine neue Entgasung der Röhre bei Wiederinbetriebnahme, und durch die Anordnung der Hochvakuumpumpe wird die dauernde Aufrechterhaltung des erforderlichen außerordentlich hohen Vakuums ermöglicht, während andererseits die besondere Ausbildung des Entladungsgefäßes selbst die Verwendung einer einzigen Röhre für den Großschwingungserzeuger erlaubt. Durch diese Kombination wird es möglich, mit einem einzigen Vakuumgefäß Schwingungsenergien zu erzeugen, wie sie z.
