Es sind Silowände bekannt, welche aus zwei einander zugekehrten Gewölben so zusammengesetzt sind, -daß die Kämpfer zusammenfallen und die Außenseite der Wölbung den Seitendruck des Lagergutes aufnimmt. Diese Form der Silowände nimmt einerseits unverhältnismäßig viel Raum in Anspruch, beeinflußt also das Verhältnis der nutzbaren Lagerraumfläche zur bebauten Grundfläche ungünstig, andererseits wirkt der Schub beider Gewölbe bei beiderseitiger Belastung - in gleichem Sinne auf die Kämpfer, was einen großen Verbrauch von Ankereisen zur Aufnahme des Gewölbeschubs verursacht. Der Silo dieser Bauart ist überdies in wagerechter Richtung schlecht verstrebt, ein Umstand, der besonders bei hohen Silos bedenklich werden kann.Silo wall made of two opposing vaults. Gleichzeitig bringt diese Bauart der Wände eine kräftige Verstrebung des ganzen Silos gegen wagerechte Kräfte mit sich. Die senkrechten Hohlräume d in den Wänden können mit dem lichten Siloinnern durch Schrägschlitze verbunden werden und dienen dann zur Lüftung des Lagergutes.The figure shows the partial floor plan of a silo.
