Drehrohrofen,- insbesondere zum Abrösten von Schwefelkies, Gasreinigungsmasse u. dgl. Durch das Hauptpatent 326441 ist ein Drehrohrofen, insbesondere zum Abrösten von Schwefelkies, Gasreinigungsmasse u. dgl., geschützt, bei dem das Innere der Ofentrommel in an sich bekannter Weise in eine Anzahl von zur Längsachse parallelen Zellen geteilt ist, denen das Röstgut mittels einer zentral angeordneten Förderschnecke durch nahe dem vorderen Ende der Zellen vorgesehene radiale Kanäle zugeführt wird, während die Röstgase durch am Vorderende der Zellen vor jenen radialen Kanälen angebrachte Öffnungen in eine die zentrale Schnecke umgebende Sarnnielkaninier austreten, von wo sie den Gaswäschern usw. zugeführt werden. Gemäß vorliegender Erfindung wird dieser Ofen dadurch verbessert und weiter ausgebildet, daß die vorderen Zellenenden, d. h. also diejenigen Teile der Zellen, die in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zu den radialen Beschickungskanälen liegen, kegelförmig verjüngt -sind, während die Austrittsöffnungen für die Röstgase in achsialer Richtung vor diesen verjüngten Zellenenden liegen. Die kegelförinige Verjüngung der Zellenenden in der Nachbarschaft der radialen Zuführungskanäle für das Röstgut bietet insbesondere den Vorteil, daß das Gut, nachdem es durch die radialen Kanäle in die Zellen eingeführt ist, schnell von diesen fort in den Röstraum der Zellen geschafft wird, so daß ein Wiederherausfallen des Röstgutes durch die radialen Eintrittskanäle bei der Umdrehung der Trommel vermieden wird.
