Description
Process for separating the potassium perchlorate from such containing Salt mixes. The processing of large amounts of ammonium nitrate explosives, which are potassium perchlorate contains, makes the separation of potassium perchlorate, known as a plant poison, from Ammonium nitrate for use for. Fertilization necessary .-- It has now been found that this here and in other cases in which the separation of the potassium perchlorate is involved is of other soluble salts, it can happen that the mixture with the concentrated solution of a potassium salt is leached. Appropriately one takes for this purpose easily soluble potassium salts, such as potassium chloride or carnallite, with their concentrated Solutions probably the easily soluble ammonium nitrate is leached out during digestion, while the poorly soluble potassium perchlorate is completely insoluble in it.
Beispiel. Example. A mixture of 10.0 kg of ammonium nitrate and 1.4 kg of potassium perchlorate are digested with a solution of 10 kg of carnallite in 15 l of water while stirring. The temperature drops to 0 ° and below, which at the same time creates some potassium chloride separates. The solution is now allowed to warm up while stirring several times or promotes this by introducing steam up to a height of 13 to 15 ', so solves the excreted potassium chloride is reassigned, and potassium perchlorate alone remains as good as quantitative and free of magnesium or ammonium salts.
