PATENTSCHRIFTPATENT LETTERING
KLASSE 2O: Eisenbahnbetrieb.CLASS 2O: Railway operations.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 2. November 1884 ab.Patented in the German Empire on November 2nd, 1884.
The valve lubricating device χ shown in detail in FIGS. 1 to 4 is inserted into the railroad car axle bushing α, FIGS. 8 and 9. It consists of the valve seat d made of delta metal, which is screwed oil-tight into the large oil container of the axle bushing, and of the brass valve v, which is provided with four oil supply grooves t which are connected at the top by a groove r running around the valve.
The closed valve produces an oil-tight seal when n>; the pin s limits the valve lift h.
The valve is raised in the oil tank so that the in the The impurities in the lubricant cannot be drawn into the valve, but next to the same, d. H. in the deeper parts of the oil basin.
The valve lubricating device only comes into operation when the railroad car is in motion, and always with every substance that the axle suffers on the rail connection, in that the valve ν is jolted upwards by the jolts which the axle suffers when the carriage moves, and then the oil is allowed to flow into the camp, while the oil supply is terminated in the state of rest.
When the valve is raised, Figs. 3 and 4, the oil immediately enters the groove r running around it and into the upper parts of the oil supply grooves t , is guided by the latter into the channel /, Fig. 9, and drips from this into the boiler k of the bearing shell m, Fig. 5, 6 and 7. As soon as this boiler is filled, the oil passes over the dam u into the channel f and from here through the ten drill holes g onto the steering knuckle. Through these ten boreholes it is achieved that the oil is evenly distributed over all points of the steering knuckle.
The tank k attached to the surface of the bearing shell is required in the event that the wa-. If the steering knuckle becomes dry, the required lubricating material must be supplied to it with the first movement. At the slightest step in the wagon, the oil in the boiler k is immediately thrown over the dam u and runs through the boreholes g directly onto the steering knuckle. The lubricating pad, which is only very lightly pressed against the steering knuckle by the flat compression springs placed on the consoles c, only serves to evenly distribute the oil supplied to the steering knuckle.
An diesem Schmierkissen können auch noch Dochte n, Fig. 8 und 9, angebracht werden, welche zur Erhöhung der Sicherheit eventuell auch noch dem Achsschenkel dasjenige OeI wieder zuführen, welches als nicht verbraucht Wicks n, FIGS. 8 and 9, can also be attached to this lubrication pad, which, in order to increase safety, possibly also feed that oil back to the steering knuckle which is deemed not to have been used up
in den Unterkasten der Achsbüchse hinabgefallen ist.has fallen into the lower box of the axle sleeve.
A sieve Z made of perforated sheet iron is used here so that these wicks cannot reach into the thick sediment of the oil that has fallen into the lower case of the axle box when they are used, thereby greatly impairing their absorbency.
