Hair tube micrometer: The invention relates to a hair tube micrometer,
how it z. B. is used when measuring small changes in length and the like
which a piston adjusted by the change in length acts on a liquid
Exerts pressure that is a multiple of the piston movement on a capillary tube
and consists in the fact that, as can be seen from the drawing, in the cylinder
i stands on both sides of the piston 2 liquid and from each of the through the piston
2 separate cylinder chambers a capillary tube 5 goes out, both at the graduation
6 are guided along. During the piston movement as a result of the change in length to be measured
of the body, the liquid moves in opposite directions in both capillary tubes,
d. h @ as the liquid level rises in one capillary tube, that one sinks
in the other capillary tube accordingly. The distance between the two liquid levels is
twice the piston displacement. This achieves the main advantage
that the error is eliminated, the influence of a temperature change during
the measurement has on the result, as this affects both sides of the piston
asserts, because with the same volume of liquid on each side of the piston, the liquid level
in both capillary tubes increased or decreased to the same extent due to the temperature change.
be lowered.
Atmosphäre in Verbindung stehen.
During the measurement, of course, both capillary tubes 5 must be connected to the
Atmosphere. Before the force is applied, the liquid ice levels are
brought to the same level in both capillary tubes. Since this by means of the adjusting screw
3 with the large area differences of the piston surface on the one hand and the small one
On the other hand, the passage cross-section of the capillary tubes 5 is not easy to carry out
is, there is one known per se for the purpose in cylinder i on each piston side
Adjustment screw or piston, diaphragm q. O. The like. Arranged, the area of which
to the clear expanse. of the capillary tube is not so disproportionate.
