Die Erfindung betrifft ein Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial
mit einer strahlungsempfindlichen Aufzeichnungsschicht.
Auf die strahlung iempfindliche Aufzeichnungsschicht wird
ein Laserstrahl gerichtet, wobei in die strahlungsempfindliche Schicht Daten in Form einer optischen Aufzeichnung
"eingegraben" werden. Die auf diese Weise in dem Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial aufgezeichneten optischen Daten können
wieder abgelesen werden.

Bei üblichen Datenaufzeichnungsmedien oder -materialien
(Fig. 1) ist auf einem Substrat 1 aus Glas oder einem Kunstharz durch Vakuumbedampfung, Zerstäuben und dgl.
eine Aufzeichnungsschicht 2 aus einem Metall wie Te, Bi,
Mn und dgl. abgelagert. Bei einem anderen üblichen Datenaufzeichnungsmedium
oder -material (Fig. 2) ist auf der Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht 2 eine korrosionsverhindernde
Schutzschicht 3 vorgesehen. Die Schutzschicht 3 besteht in der Regel aus einer korrosionsbeständigen organischen oder
anorganischen Substanz. Die Schutzschicht aus einer anorganischen Substanz ist auf der Aufzeichnungsschicht in Form eines
dünnen Films einer Stärke von unter 500nm (5000 Angström) aufgetragen. Das Auftragen erfolgt beispielsweise ^urch
Vakkumaufdampfen, Zerstäuben und dgl. von Siliciu diöxid,

Siliciummonoxid, Indiumoxid und dgl. Die Schutzschicht aus einem organischen Material ist auf die Aufzeichnungsschicht
in Form eines dünnen Films einer Stärke von etwa 1 - 100 μΐη
aufgetragen. Das Auftragen erfolgt beispielsweise durch a„ Applikation einer Lösung beispielsweise eines Polyvinylchlorid-
oder Styrolharzes und dgl. in einem geeigneten Lösungsmittel mit Hilfe geeigner Maßnahmen, z.B. mit
Hilfe einer Schleuderbesdiichtungsvoirricditung, einer Walzenauftragvorrichtung,
einer sonstigen Auftragvorrichtung und dgl., auf die
Schutzschicht (und Verdampfen des Lösungsmittels).
Wenn jedoch auf der Aufzeichnungsschicht durch Vakuumbedampfen
oder Zerstäubung eine Schutzschicht aus einer anorganischen Substanz gebildet wird, kommt es nach einer
bestimmten Zeit zu einer Rißbildung in der Aufzeichnungsschicht und/oder Schutzschicht. Wenn andererseits anstelle
der Schutzschicht aus einer anorganischen Substanz eine
Schutzschicht aus einer organischen Substanz hergestellt 15
wird, kann es zu einem Zerfließen der Aufzeichnungsschicht während der Applikation oder Härtung der Schutzschicht
aus der anorganischen Substanz kommen. Aus diesen Gründen ist auch die Herstellung einer Schutzschicht aus
einer organischen Substanz mühsam, wobei auch in diesen 20
Fällen nach einer bestimmten Zeit eine Rißbildung erfolgt.
Der Erfindung lag die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein durch Massenproduktion
mit hoher Zuverlässigkeit herstellbares Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial zu schaffen, das gegen eine Rißbildung

in der Aufzeichnungsschicht und/oder Schutzschicht geschützt
ist.
Gegenstand der Erfindung.ist somit ein Datenaufzeichnungsa0
material mit einem scheibenförmigen Substrat, einer auf eine Oberfläche des Substrats aufgetragenen strahlungsempfindlichen
Aufzeichnungsschicht und einer Schutzschicht (als äußerster Schicht auf der Seite der Aufzeichnungsschicht)
, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß es eine durch Oxidieren einer Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht
gebildete Oxidschicht (zwischen der Aufzeichnungsschicht
und der Schutzschicht) enthält.
Die Erfindung wird im folgenden anhand der Zeichnungen
näher erläutert. Im einzelnen zeigen:

Fig. 3 einen Querschnitt durch eine Ausführungsform
eines erfindungsgemäßen Datenaufzeichnungsmaterials und
Fig. 4 eine schematische Darstellung eines Herstellungsverfahrens
zur Herstellung einer Ausführungsform eines erfindungsgemäßen Datenaufzeichnungsmaterials.
Bei dem in Fig. 3 im Querschnitt dargestellten Hauptteil einer Ausführungsform eines erfindungsgemäßen Datenaufzeichnungsmaterials
ist auf ein Substrat 10 eine Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 aufgetragen. Deren Oberfläche ist in eine
Oxidschicht 11a überführt. Auf der Oxidschicht 11a ist eine
die Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 abdeckende Schutzschicht 12 vorgesehen. Das Substrat 10 besteht aus Glas oder einem
Kunstharz und besitzt Scheibenform. Seine Dicke beträgt 0,2-2 mm, sein Durchmesser 30 cm. Zur Aufzeichnung oder
Wiedergabe von Daten auf oder von der später noch beschriebenen Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 durch Ausrichten eines I iserstrahls
auf die Aufzeichnungsschicht muß das das Substrat 10
bildende Glas oder Kunstharz lichtdurchlässig sein. Beispiele für verwendbare Kunstharze sind Polyolefine, wie Polyäthylen,
Polyvinylchlorid, Vlnylchlorid/Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisate,
Äthylen/Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisate, Polycarbonate, PoIyacrylsäure,
Polymathacrvlsäure und Niedrig-Alkylester der
Polyacryl- oder Polymp^ftacrylsäure. Damit das Substrat
eine möglichst gute Durchsichtigkeit und möglichst große
mechanische Festigkeit erhält, sollte es vorzugsweise aus
Polyacrylsäurer Polymeth acrylsäure oder einem Niedrig-5
Alkylester hiervon bestehen.
Die Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 besitzt eine kreisrunde Form
mit der nicht dargestellten zentralen Öffnung des Substrats als Zentrum. Die Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 besteht aus einem
dünnen Film aus einer lichtreflektierenden Substanz. Die lichtreflektierende Substanz muß den Laserstrahl reflektieren
und kann beispielsweise aus Te, Bi oder Al bestehen. Die Stärke der Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 liegt unter 500 nm, vorzugsweise
zwischen 20 und 200 nm (5000 Angström, 200 bis
2000 Angström). Die Ausbildung der Aufzeichnungsschicht 11
auf der Oberfläche des Substrats 10 kann in beliebiger Weise erfolgen, solange man nur eine gleichmäßige Aufzeichnungsschicht
11 geringer Dicke erhält. Die Applikation der Auf-
2Q zeichnungsschicht kann beispielsweise durch Ablagerung, z.B.
durch Vakuumbedampfung(des Substrats), durch Zerstäuben oder durch Ionenablagerung erfolgen. Auf der Oberfläche der
Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 wird erfindungsgemäß durch Oxidieren
dieser Oberfläche eine dichte Oxidschicht 11a erzeugt. Die Oxidation der Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht kann durch
Bestrahlen mit UV- oder Infrarotstrahlen, durch Erwärmen, durch Liegenlassen in Umgebungsatmosphäre und dgl. erfolgen.
Die Oxidschicht 11a sollte vorzugsweise 2-50 nm (20 500 Angström) dick sein. Vorzugsweise erfolgt die Oxidation
durch Bestrahlung mit UV-Strahlung oder Liegenlassen in trockener Luft, da hierbei ohne Schwierigkeiten eine dichte
Oxidschicht entsteht. Wenn die dichte Oxidschicht zu dünn ist, stellt sich der angestrebte Erfolg nicht ein. Wenn andererr
seits die dichte Oxidschicht zu stark ist, läßt sich der Kontrast des Aufzeichnungsbits nur schwierig steuern.
Die Schutzschicht 12 wird derart ausgebildet, daß sie die

Oxidschicht 11a der Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 bedeckt und

einen konzentrischen Ring mit der nicht dargestellten zentralen öffnung des Substrats 10 als Zentrum bildet.
Die Schutzschicht 12 kann aus einer organischen Substanz, wie Polystyrol, einem Epoxyharz, einem Polycärbonatharz,
einem Vinlychlorid/Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat, einem
Äthylen/Vinylacetat-Mischjpolymerisat oder einem Siliconhärz
bestehen. Die aus einer anorganischen Substanz der beschriebenen Art bestehende Schutzschicht 12 erhält man
durch Applikation einer Lösung der organischen Substanz in einem organischen Lösungsmittel, wie Benzol,Toluol und dgl.,
auf die Oberfläche der Oxidschicht 11a der Schutzschicht
und Entfernen des organischen Lösungsmittels. Ferner kann
man die Schutzschicht 12 unter Verwendung eines lösungsmittelfreien Harzes der beschriebenen Art in nicht gehärtetem
Zustand herstellen. Weiterhin kann man die Schutzschicht auch aus einer anorganischen Substanz, wie SiO,, SiO,
In2O3, SnO2, MgO, ZnO, ZnO3, Al2O3, CsD2, TiO2, MgF3, CaF2 und/
oder CeF- herstellen. In diesem Falle erhält man die Schutzschicht 12 durch Vakuumablagerung, Zerstäubung und dgl. der
anorganischen Substanz auf der Oxidschicht der Aufzeichnungsschicht
.
Im folgenden wird ψιη eine Ausführungsform eines Herstellungsverfahrens
für ein Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial de beschriebenen Bauweise unter Bezugnahme auf die schematische Darstellung
in Fig". 4 näher erläutert. Zunächst wird durch Ablagern (im Vakuum) auf dee Oberfläche des Substrats 10 aus einem
Acrylkunsistoff eine Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 aus Te in einer
Stärke von 50 nm ($00 Angström) ausgebildet. Danach wird das
Ganze mittels eines Förderbandes 15 mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 5 m/min e^ne1"- Heizabschnitt zugeführt. Im Heizabschnitt
sind in feinem Abstand L von 50 cm jär.ei .ausge-
richtete UV-Lampen 14 mit 80 W/cm vorgesehen. Durch die Bestrahlung
mit Hilfe der UV-Lampen 14 erzeugt man auf der Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 eine Oxidschicht 11a
einer Stärke von etwa 10 nm (100 Angström) (vgl. Fig. 3).
Schließlich wird auf die Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht
11 zur Ausbildung der Schutzschicht 12. (vgl. Fig. 3) mit Hilfe einer ScideuderbescMc^txingsvorrixditunq ein Styrolharz
in einer Stärke von 20μΐη aufgetragen. Bei Durchführung der
geschilderten Maßnahmen wird auf die Oberfläche des Substrats 10 aus dem Acrylharz eine Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 aus Te
einer Stärke von 40 nm (400 Angström) aufgetragen. Die Oberflächenschicht der Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 wird zur
Bildung der Oxidschicht 11a (TeO ) einer Stärke von 10 nm

(100 Angström) oxidiert. Auf der gebildeten Oxidschicht
wird eine Schutzschicht 12 aus dem Styrolharz ausgebildet.
Da auf der Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 eine
Oxidschicht 11a aufgetragen ist, erhält die Aufzeichnungsschicht
11 eine gute mechanische Festigkeit. Die Ausbildung von Mikrorissen in der Aufzeichnungsschicht 11 während der
Ausbildung der Schutzschicht 12 läßt sich auf diese Weise
verhindern.

Wie bereits ausgeführt, lassen sich erfindungsgemäß dadurch, daß man auf der Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht eine
Oxidschicht vorsieht, der Aufzeichnungsschicht selbst eine o_ bessere mechanische Festigkeit verleihen und eine Rißbildung
der Aufzeichnungsschicht während der Ausbildung der Schutzschicht
verhindern. Folglich kann man in höchst vorteilhafter Weise Datenaufzeichnungsmaterialien gemäß der Erfindung
durch Massenproduktion mit hoher Zuverlässigkeit

Claims (5)
- PATENTANSPRÜCHEDatenaufzeichnungsmaterial, bestehend aus einem scheibenförmigen Substrat (10), einer auf der Oberfläche des Subi-crats ausgebildeten, strahlungsempfindlichen Aufzeichnungsschicht (11), einer durch Oxidieren einer Oberfläche der Aufzeichnungsschicht gebildeten Oxidschicht (11a) und einer auf der Oxidschicht ausgebildeten Schutzschicht (12).
- 2. Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Oxidschicht eine Stärke von 2 - 50 nm (20 bis 500 Angström) aufweist.
- 3. Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial nach Anspruch 1, dadurch ge-20kennzeichnet, daß die Aufzeichnungsschicht ein aus Te, Bi und/oder Al bestehendes Metall enthält.
- 4. Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Schutzschicht aus einer aus einemEpoxyharz, Polystyrolharz, Siliconharz oder Polycarbonatharz oder einem Vinylchlorid/Vdnylacetat-Mischpolymerisat und/oder einem Äthylen/Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat bestehenden organischen Substanz gebildet ist.
- 5. Datenaufzeichnungsmaterial nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Schutzschicht aus einer ausSiO, In3O3, SnO2, MgO, ZnO, ZnO2, Al2O3, CeO3, TiO MgF2, CaF2 und/oder CeF3 bestehenden anorganischen Substanz gebildet ist.
