Auf der Achse M des Segmentes sitzt aber auch das Küken D eines Hahnes Z, welcher durch den Kanal T gleichfalls mit dem Kessel etc. und aufserdem durch einen Ablafsstutzen mit der freien Atmosphäre communicirt. Die Drehung des Kükens bewirkt also, dafs die beiden Bohrungen X und Y des Kükens die Verbindung zwischen T und dem Ablafsstutzen herstellen, so dafs also ein Ausströmen des Dampfes oder dergleichen aus dem Kessel stattfindet.
