Abstract

The under floor heating system, designed to occupy the minimum space, uses a large-area heating element (1) which may be unwound from a roll. This is supported by a concrete layer (8), and a carpet may be placed directly on top. By mounting the supply and return pipes (5,6) one above the other along the bottom of the walls (9), and supporting electric cables above them, there is little encroachment on the height above floor level. The heating element consists of two layers with a space between and its end is bent upwards and attached vertically to the wall. The pipes, cables and telephone wiring are all supported by brackets (4) attached to the wall and concealed behind a skirting strip (3).

Description

The invention relates to a method for arranging heat exchanger elements which consist of a flexible upper and lower layer which form a cavity.

Conventional underfloor heating with pipe coils usually have a structure of at least 60 - 70 mm. Special designs are also offered with a thickness of 30 mm. A floor structure less than 10 mm thick is only possible with electric heaters, e.g. surface heating conductors, but not sensible, as a concrete screed is generally required as a storage mass in order to use the night power. A major disadvantage, however, is direct heating with electricity, because the electrical energy that is available to the consumer is only around 34% of the primary energy used in the power plant.

Approaches for a particularly flat underfloor heating arise with the fluid-flow heat exchanger element according to DE-OS 27 14 901. In order to accommodate the necessary connections, the floor structure must be increased again to about 30-40 mm thickness.

In practice, however, there is a great need for underfloor heating that is as flat as possible, since with certain types of construction, especially when renovating old buildings, the floor cannot be increased at will in many cases. The advantages of underfloor heating (low temperature, energy saving, heat pump, room climate) are becoming more and more relevant.

Um die Vorteile des flachen Wärmeaustauscherelements nachTo see the advantages of the flat heat exchanger element

To fully use DE-OS 27 14 901, i.e. to increase the floor structure by less than 10 mm, a method for arranging the flexible heat exchanger element was found.

This method is characterized in that the inlet and outlet connections for the heat transfer medium are located in an edge strip of the heat exchanger element and that this edge strip is pulled up from the plane of the floor (horizontal) into the plane of the wall (vertical). The inlet and outlet pipes are then in a known manner on the wall and are directly connected to the heat exchanger element. In this way, the floor is only increased by the thickness of the heat exchanger element (approx. 6-8 mm). Advantageously, the pipe connection and holder are designed in such a way that a cover strip (floor skirting board) can be clamped onto this holder. Since this skirting board is removable, electrical or telephone cables can subsequently be accommodated in the still remaining free cavity in a known manner.

Another advantage can be seen during assembly. Due to the robust construction site operation, damage to the heat exchanger element, which had already been designed before other, subsequent work, would easily be possible. By arranging the connections on one side, the heat exchanger element with the connection lines already installed can lie rolled up on the wall until all other work is done. The heat exchanger element is only rolled out on the floor shortly before the carpet is applied, thereby avoiding any possibility of damage.
